The Barken Head Pool & Leisure Center is located on an attractive parkside and combines outdoor adventures with outstanding facilities.

From indoor rock climbing gym to outdoor temperature pool, from the "Bash a Giant Tile" fitness center to the high rope jumping course, there is nothing in this center.

Auckland's best rock climbing wall

Indoor rock climbing is refreshing, challenging, healthy and fun!

Regardless of age, level, and abilities. Before the instructor challenges climbing, we will carefully explain what to do and how to climb comfortably.

Rental of climbing tools is also possible, and we will provide free guidance to beginners.

Indoor rock climbing facility

Training wall (5m top rope)

Instructions on how to climb and villain (how to take a safety rope) with a vertical 5m top rope. It will be an activity with two people.

Top rope wall (10m)

The climber is attached to the safety rope attached to the top and bottom of the wall. There are 21 lines, and you can enjoy about 40 kinds of climbing.

Bouldering

Readwall (12m)

Readwall is for advanced users who climb with their own tools. All climbers need to evaluate the technical level by the staff to get a lead license (free) to climb the lead wall. There is a space where 10 climbers can climb at a time, and there are up to 50 types of routes.

The climber is connected to the safety rope and climbs up the rope using the power of the upper body and lower body.

    This facility can be used by families of all ages. There is a shallow and warmer indoor ray pool and a larger outdoor hot water 33m lane pool, aiming to increase the confidence and flight distance at a deep water depth.

    Intensive swimming lessons

    Our Learn To Swim intensive lesson is held for half a day from Monday to Friday for half a day (4 days for holidays). Lessons take place in the morning or afternoon.

    Children who are stuck in swimming should surely be able to overcome them by going every day for 5 days. Master breathing, breaststroke, and butterfly!

    Characteristics of accessibility

    Parking: We have four barrie r-free parking lots.

    Wheelchair access: This facility is a tw o-story building. The reception and practice rock wall are on the ground floor. The rock wall and gym are on the lower floor. The pool is outside the facility and can be accessed with a slope. Barrie r-free toilets and shower are located near the rock wall on the lower floor and near the pool that can be accessed with a slope. There is an elevator for wheelchairs between the ground floor and lower floors.

    The entrance is an automatic door.

    This facility can be accompanied by auxiliary dogs.

    Access to the pool

    Access: The 3 3-mete r-meter outdoor pool and the learning pool are outdoors and can be accessed from the reception with a slope with handrails. Access to the lap pool requires a pool whistle (weight limit 200 kg). The learning pool has a staircase to enter the pool with a railing.

    There is one barrie r-free changing room in the barrie r-free changing room Aquatic area, and there are seats in the shower area and handrails.

    Gym accessibility

    Access gyms can be used from the reception elevator.

    There is enough space for a wheelchair between the gym equipment gym equipment and the machine. There are also cable machines and free weights.
