RMS Queen Mary 2, built in 2004, along with his fellow MS Queen Victoria (2007), MS Queen Elizabeth (2010), and the latest Kunard line (2024) Queen Ann. It is the oldest and most famous ship among cunaded cruise ships.
The ship (IMO number 9241061) currently has the Bermuda flag (MMSI 310627000) and has acquired a vessel in Hamilton. Previously, the flagship / ferrum is the UK / Southampton (MMSI 235762000).
History-Construction and ownership
The Kunard Line is a British American cruise brand, operated by a carnival UK and owned by a carnival corporation. Cunard is headquartered in Southampton (UK) and is one of the oldest passenger ships in the world. In 2015, the Cunard Line celebrated its 175th anniversary.
Cunad has continued to protect the Blue L i-brand, the fastest sailing of the Atlantic Ocean, for the next 30 years. In 1968, the Kunard Line withdrew from operations all year round and focused on vacation customers and crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Queens was replaced by QE2 (Queen Elizabeth 2), designed for its special dual role. In 1998, Carnival Corporation acquired Cunard. Five years later, QM2 (Queen Merry 2) entered the Atlantic route on behalf of Queen Elizabeth 2.
Currently, Cunard is the only boat company that operates regular passenger services connecting North America and Europe.
The RMS Queen Mary 2, which has a capacity of 1, 300 passengers, is the current flagship of Cunard, one of the most modern (design and technology) cruise ships, and is currently specially designed for regular voyage of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the world's largest ocean liner. QM2 is a perfect structure from the bow to the stern, a magnificent public space, a luxurious restaurant, a ballroom, a theater, a bar, a lounge, and a planetarium (first eaves). An invisible wind screen was created to protect passengers at high speed (30 knots).
Stephen Payne is the ship's naval architect and CCL Carnival's designer, who modeled the features of past ocean liners, including the three thick black lines that recall the appearance of the original Queen Mary. Queen Mary 2 is so large that it cannot depart from all ports, so passengers are transported by tender. To bring passengers to land, the tender is hoisted up to the loading station, which has large hull doors that open hydraulically outwards to become the boarding platform.
The ship changed flag in 2011 (from London, England to Hamilton, Bermuda), allowing weddings on board at sea. RMS stands for "Royal Mail Ship", a gesture in the history of Cunard Line.
RMS Queen Mary 2 is the only ship that regularly sails between the UK and the USA (Southampton and New York), and offers high quality travel with modern facilities, highly trained staff and the most professional crew. With a gross tonnage of 148, 528 tons, the QM2 is also one of the largest passenger ships in the world.
Cunard QM2's first cruise began on January 10, 2007, and took 81 days to circumnavigate the world. On February 20, she met Queen Elizabeth II in Sydney, New South Wales, and on her way to her round-the-world voyage. The Queen's arrival time was 5:42 a. m., but there were many spectators on the Harbour Bridge. This was the first time they had met since the first Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary came aboard as soldiers in 1941.
Queen Mary 2 departed Southampton on January 10, 2012 for a three-month round-the-world voyage, sailing south, east around Africa, along the east coast of Australia to Japan, and back to Southampton through the Suez Canal.
Another royal rendezvous took place in front of the Statue of Liberty in New York at 6:45 pm on January 13, 2011. Queen Mary 2 met Queen Victoria and the new ship Queen Elizabeth. The two ships, QE and QV, crossed the Atlantic in tandem for the event. Fireworks and the red light of the Empire State Building marked the occasion. To celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, the Queens reunited in Southampton on June 5, 2012.
Deck and Cabin
RMS Queen Mary 2 cabins (1363 rooms in total) include 170 suite, 813 balconies, 74 ocean views (including 12 Ranai/ Atrium views), 286 inside, 29 categories. There are 479 connecting rooms, 26 wheelchair compatible cabins, and 15 studios (one cabin). The largest room is the Grand Duplex Suite (1, 600 feet 2/149 m2 + 645 feet 2 /60 m2 terrace).
There are 18 decks, of which 13 decks are barrie r-free and 11 decks are rooms.
Passenger cabins are standard insides (without windows), Lanai / Standard Atrium views (with small windows in the standard inside), standard ocean views (one small no n-open side window with the sea), Britannia. Club balcony and Britannia balcony (with glas s-covered balcony), the rest is suite (Princess, Queen, Penthouse, Royal, Duplex, Grand Duplex).
Theoretically, RMS Queen Mary 2 is a classless ship, but the dining place on the ship is determined according to the cabi n-class/ cruise fare, so passengers are actually divided (like other cunaded passenger ships). Masu.
Meals on boar d-Meals and drinks
All cunaded passenger ships have three main restaurants that offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner: Queens Grill Restaurant is only for Queen's Grill. Queens Grill Restaurant is only for customers staying on the princess grill. Britannia Restaurant: Britannia balcony, ocean views, or guests in the inside of the inside. The content of the meal depends on the accommodation category selected by the customer. Most customers choose the Britania course and eat at the main restaurant. You can also upgrade to "Junior Suite" to eat Princess Grill, or choose a suite and eat at Queens Grill. In such a case, Cunard is called the s o-called grill passenger, and the Queens Grill Lounge is allowed, and the deck 11 private area and hot tabs can be used. Other public areas can be used by all passengers.
Each cabin has vacant seats, and most cabins can use a tw o-story restaurant Britannia (1. 300 seats). Princess Grill in Deck 7 is the most expensive cabin, and the Queens Grill on the same deck can be used for the finest cabins. The fare includes all meals at a dedicated restaurant and afternoon tea in the King Scort or Queens Room. Appetizers, main, and desserts can be selected daily. Eating at the optional venu e-Instead of special restaurants, you can choose a casual king scorp for sel f-service on the deck 7 (full of buffet space) and a meal at the pub "Golden Lion" on the deck 2. 。 At King Scort, which is open as a buffet restaurant, you can enjoy breakfast and lunch 24 hours a day. The Deck 8 Restaurant in Deck 8 offers great dishes.
Each cabin has a free room service, where you can always order simple menus such as hamburgers, pasta, crackers. If you order a drink, it will be a bar fee.
You can request meetings at the time of booking. Britannia restaurant dinner is 6 pm and 8:30 pm. There is no seat in Princess Grill and Queen's Grill. The notes for checking the seats and table numbers are placed on the cabin when boarding. Lunch and breakfast do not require tables or seats.
Note: At the time of the 2016 o n-board tank, "Winter Garden" was changed to "Circlesia Lounge". In the new lounge, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and premium coffee. Queen Mary 2 Wiki
RMS Queen Mary 2 (QM2) is one of the oldest and most famous ocean liners of the Cunard Line. As a class and hull design, QM2 is a specially designed "Ocean Liner" designed to cross the UK and the United States for crossing regular high-speed passengers. The departure port is three ports: the United States (New York), the UK (Southampton) and Germany (Hamburg). Most of these cruising travels are held according to the Atlantic crossing schedule crossing the North Atlantic between Southampton and New York for seven days. A short (7 days) itinerary is usually invisible.
Cunard QM2 was completed on December 23, 2003. On January 12, 2004, a cruise / virgin voyage to Fort Lord Dale, Florida began.
The parent of this ship is Queen Elizabeth II (King British/1926-2022). The naming ceremony was held on January 8 at Port Southampton. At this special event, live performances by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra / RPO and Royal Marines Band (British Navy Music Corps) were performed.
The ship was named "RMS Queen Mary 2" after the Royal Mail Service of Cunard La R in.
RMS Queen Mary 2 was built over $ 900 million, about twice the price of cruise passenger ships. The construction was large because the ship was large and the material used was the finest. In addition, the construction of the ship required 40 % more steel than normal ships. The QM2, which started in service in 2004, became the world's largest cruise ship.
The cruising speed of QM2 was 30 knots (56 km / h), and it became the world's fastest cruise ship on the cruise ship currently operated. RMS Queen Mary 2 is the first cruise ship equipped with a diesel gas composite promotion system based on gas turbine that expands the power of diesel.
The illumination theater is the first planetarium of the sea. It also has the largest library (more than 8, 000 books), the first offshore space club at Canyon Lunch, a total of 15 dining areas, five pools, and a 620 meter pool. QM2 is a post Panamax (formerly unable to pass through the lock of the Panama Canal) and is designed for crossing the Atlantic Ocean. At the Atlantic Ocean, QM2 supplies about 65. 000 fresh eggs and about 150 tons of food. However, the necessary propulsion is even more amazing. QM2 requires 1850 tons of diesel fuel and 1000 tons of gas tons of gas tons of gas tons of gas tons of gas tons of 1000 tons when crossing the North Atlantic Between the United States and the United Kingdom for seven days. It takes 6 hours to fill the storage tank.
In August 2004 (during the summer Olympics held in Greece), the ship was chartered, was anchored at Piresuus (Athens) for two weeks and used as a ship hotel. Among the guests were Tony Blair (British Prime Minister), Jack Syrac (President French), George W. Bush (US President), and Wolfgang, who stayed in the Palace of Versailles. Bush (US President), all Olympic teams, John Creze (British actor), Richard Drayfas (US actor), Harold Evans (British journalist / writer), George Lucas (film director / movie producer), Curly Elizabeth ・ Simon (US singer), Rod Stewart (English singer), Donald Trump (media media / US President in the future).
On October 19, 2011, the ship changed its fleet (FLAG-STATE) from the United Kingdom to Bermuda, and cruise ships could have a wedding. The letter "Southampton" on the stern has been changed to "Hamilton". This was the first time in the history of Cunado, and the investment destination was not registered in the UK.
In early February 2017, Cunard Line announced that the company has sponsored the Westminster Kenel Club Dog Show. This famous confomitable show has been held every year in New York since 1877. The winners and their owners provided free QM2 transit to the Atlantic Ocean.
On December 8, 2017, QM2 operated a cruise ship following the 75th anniversary of the New York Times. Crossword Crossing (7 nights crossing the Atlantic Cruise from New York to Southampton), QM2 passengers tried crossword skills and crossword specialists (Ben Jimmer, Deb Amlen, Joel Farhano, I got a unique opportunity to meet). In addition, we provided information on puzzles of popular media through daily theme events (lectures, play time, and other activities). The first New York Times crossword puzzle was published in 1942. It will be held every day by 1950 and is now one of the most popular media special features.
On the itinerary on August 31 to September 7, 2017, the cruise ship held a cuunardic Atlantic Trump Fashion Week Cruise from Southampton to New York. The voyage with such a theme gathers the world's most famous fashion brand representatives. For seven days on the sea, fashion exhibitions, formal dinner, exclusive event, workshops, talk shows, etc. will be held. In the 2017 voyage VIP, Julian McDonald's (celebrity designer) and Colin McDawell (fashion writer) were available. In the QM2 ship, three new cunaded po p-up shops, including Malberry (wallet and bag), Lucy Choi (designer shoes), and Melissa Odabash (designer swimsuit), have been able to purchase the latest fashion collections.
Interesting facts are that on January 17, 2016, a child was born on the ship of RMS Queen Mary 2 on the way to New York. The ship was crossing the Atlantic from Southampton, and German passengers caused labor. A ship doctor gave birth. The boy who arrived three weeks earlier was named Benjamin Brooklyn.
The RMS Queen Mary 2 "World Cruise" that starts every January is a major event in the cruise market. Compared to other cruise lines, Cunard's World Cruise offers affordable prices, exciting ports of call, and the chance to visit "big and famous" ports around the world.

During this dry dock (at Blohm+Boss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany), the following changes were made:
The Winter Garden Lounge on Lido Deck 7 has been renovated and transformed into the new Carinthia Lounge, named after Cunard's two Carinthia liners, RMS Carinthia (1925-1940) and RMS Carinthia (1956-2006).
On Deck 8, the ship's famous Todd English restaurant has been replaced by "The Veranda Restaurant." This new restaurant (available on both QM2 fleets) serves gourmet French regional cuisine (with seasonal influences) and a list of fine French wines. New dinner specials are available for an additional fee and are only available for lunch and dinner. The Veranda Grill has its own bar, selling pre- and post-meal beverages.
172 suites (all Princess and Queen Grill Suites on the upper deck of QM2) have been completely redesigned to maximise space. The interiors have also been altered to reflect Cunard Line's history. The changes include new luxurious textures in relaxing colours and new carpets (the carpet textures are inspired by the upholstery on the former RMS Queen Mary).
With the participation of Cunard guests and the Queen Mary team on Queen Mary 2, a major development has been carried out over the past 18 months to renew this popular area of the flagship. Improvements to both service and cuisine are planned for Kingscourt, with the revamped space offering new menus, the convenience of pre-set tables and waiter-serviced beverages.
Kingscourt, the self-service buffet restaurant on the amidships of the Lido on deck 7, has been extensively renovated. Both main elevators were removed, creating a huge open space. This allows for a more open and comfortable flow of traffic around the main buffet station. The restaurant seating was also reconfigured to eliminate clutter and add the comfort of pre-set tables and waiter-served beverages. New menus were introduced (including alternative smoking areas) and pre-set tables and waiter-served beverages were added. Among the new menus are hot and cold meals, light meals, afternoon snacks, and specialties such as Asian, Indian, Italian, and Tex-Mex cuisines. In the center, the ship's chef entertains guests with cooking demonstrations in the evenings.
(King Scort) The chef's kitchen (lunch is pasta and pizza) offers additional chefs on a specific night. This is a VIP dining event sponsored by the ship's executive chef, pairing with hig h-quality wine and tasting dishes. The new buffet design features a modern chandelier, new artwork (circus theme), flooring area, and many mirrors.
Both grill restaurants (lid deck 7) have been renovated with the renewed color, furniture and flooring. After the renovation in 2016, both restaurants have renewed the menu, the number of tables for tw o-seat has increased, and more privacy (expanding the intervals between tables and tables) is reconstructed.
A new 15 private bedrooms have been added to the deck 2 portside (using the casino space) and the deck 3L portside (location of the picture collection).
The Britannia restaurant (deck 2 dining room) has also been renovated. It has been renovated into a new interior and has been upgraded to the new dining menu and the "White Star Service" standard for cunaded.
The menu has been renewed in Golden Lion (pub) and Veuve Clica (wine / champagne bar).
30 bedrooms and 5 interior rooms in the "Britannia Club Balcony" class on the deck 13 (in front of the deck).
In addition to the 12 Kenel of the 12 decks, a new 10 kenel (for dogs and cats) has been added. This is the best facilities for pets accompanying passengers. The cruise passenger ship became a cucumber sign at the old flagship Queen RMS Elizabeth 2 in Cunard. In Ocean Liner QM2, it was first introduced with the proposal of Duke of Windsor.
In QM2, the dog hut area has been extended, and a playground for the owners lounge and a new pet has been added. The expanded outdoor space is for dog walks, with (Liverpool) Rampost and (New York) fire hydrant. In 2016, CUNARD will partner with Barbour (British sportswear brand) to provide smart pet accessories (jackets, collars, leads, etc.) on the QM2 boat.
In Deck 2, two Grand Robby elevators were removed. As a result, the space for the lobby lounge has been expanded, and a chair with a high backrest and a new baby ground piano have been installed.
A new carpet of about 55. 200 M2 (594. 200 FT2) was laid through the entire ship. All new cruise cabins have increased the number of passengers of QM2 from 2620 (up to 3151) to 2726 (up to 3271). Enjoyment of renovation: ma n-hours (over 1 million people), new carpets (55. 200 m2 / 594. 200 ft2)
