Editorial department note

TPG's Kristy Tolley has boarded Utopia of the Seeds on a free Royal Caribbean trip. The following opinions are all of her, not the Royal Caribbean reviews.

Vacations full of action are welcome, but if you don't have PTO, a cruise in Royal Caribbean's new utopia of the seeds may be a solution.

Usually, a cruise company puts an old passenger ship on a short voyage and puts a new cruise ship on a long itinerary. It's a shame for cruise customers who have only three or four days to experience a new passenger ship. Royal Caribbean changed everything in Utopia, which was in service in July. Utopia is the first new boat for Royal Calibien's short cruise, larger than any other cruise ship in North America, and has a substantial amenities.

Utopia has a lot of water sliders and pools, a lot of food and drink shops, and there are endless entertainment and parties. However, I didn't hesitate to take on the challenge (I was sleeping!) And I was able to experience a lot.

Utopia has a lot of space for chill out and party, according to the atmosphere of the individual cruise. From new restaurants and bars to activities and itinerary, we will introduce all the information you need to determine whether Utopia of the Seeds is the perfect boat for you.

Overview of Utopia of the Seeds

Utopia of the Seeds, a 237, 00 0-ton, 5, 66 8-seater, and a height of 18 decks, debuted in July 2024 as the world's second largest cruise passenger ship. This is the sixth boat of the Royal Caribbean and the Oasis class, the sixth ship of the Oasis class. It is only smaller than Royal Caribbean's icon of the seeds, and in 2025 the second ico n-class cruise ship Star of the Seeds, it will be the third largest in the world.

Like other Oa Siclass passenger ships, Utopia of the Seeds has eight areas for each deck, each with a unique atmosphere. Such layouts make it easier to find directions and help distribute passengers throughout the huge ship. I often became a direction on the boat, but I was able to move quite well while boarding.

The breakdown of the nearby areas of Utopia of the Seeds is as follows.

Royal Promenade (Deck 5)

Christie Tory / The Point Guy

Like other Oa Siclass passenger ships, Royal Promenade is the main street of this ship. Shops, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs and bars are lined up.

Central Park is a lush paradise that gives peace to a lively (sometimes enthusiastic) ship. It is full of living plants and trees.

What I liked at Utopia of the Seeds

Lots of things that you can enjoy with your family

Christie Tory / The Point Guy

Utopia seems to have infinite family attractions. My daughters are already adults, but when they were young (and probably in their twenties), I couldn't help but think about how crazy this ship was.

The ship and its short itiners are designed to appeal to young families and mult i-generation groups. The strategy is also demonstrated in various forms in Utopia of the Seeds.

There are many ways to kill teenagers on board, from pools, water sliders, zip lines, wel l-equipped arcades, 1 0-decked dry rider, and vast sports zones. There is also a lodging place for teenagers that allows you to enjoy activities such as dance party, sports tournaments, trivia games, and karaoke.

In addition to Adventure Ocean's kids program, we also have outlets for small children, such as interactive aqua parks for infants and small children, and Splashaway Bay. In addition, Utopia Place Cape with the theme of underwater allows you to enjoy vivid climbing structures, slides and puzzles. Beyond the mini golf course and casual Mexican wal k-up restaurants, families do not have to go far away, so you can enjoy eating.

A strong party feeling

The Royal Caribbean is focusing on the party scenes of Utopia of the Seeds, but not just adul t-style parties that dancing all night and drinking. Utopia can be enjoyed by all ages. Family fan festivals, silent disco, and daytime pool party can celebrate together. In the evening, the Night Club Party "Red", a technostyl e-only nightclub party, which is 18 years old and over, sponsored by the ship exclusive DJ, and the fun of adults will be even more enjoyable.

In addition to the already established Soires, such as D J-led pool side parties and celebrations at the Royal Promenade, Utopia will enhance an old school atmosphere with two new parties.

Royal Kappa Chi Colleg e-style parties have a pon battle and flip cup championship. The Silent Toga Party may be the best combination of peanut butter and jelly, combining silent disco and Toga party. The resolution dance party (the project of light is amazing) and the Senses Sunset Pool Party are also worth checking.

No n-alcoholic cocktail

Christie Tory / The Point Guy

I was impressed by the original selection of a zer o-proof cocktail on some of the bar drink menus of Utopia. The Royal Caribbean has lived a party game at Utopia of the Seeds, but seems to understand that alcohol is not always necessary to have a good time. According to the Royal Caribbean Cruise, Senior Director Ed Esworth, Royal Caribbean Cruise has paid close attention to cocktails, as cocktails.

Christie Tory / The Point Guy

I liked some izakaya's drink menus and a zero proof section separately from the no n-alcoholic menu.

There were several times in the menu of Zero Proof, but the bartender immediately provided an alternative. On the Rocks Bar on Hydaway Beach in Perfect Day at Cocokoke. The bartender replaced the ram with a club soda and made a zer o-proof coconut mojito ($ 7). I like ram and Mojito, but I missed alcohol at all. The bar also offers no n-alcoholic hig h-ken beer.

Lime juice, cranberry juice, dessert pair syrup, "All Aboard Spritz" made in Club Soda, and "WaterMelon Mint Lemonade", which adds mint to watermelon syrup (both are published on several bar menus at 7 dollars. I also like it).

What I didn't like at Utopia of the Seeds

Less choice for midnight dining

During the three night voyages, there were too many highlights and could not have dinner within the conventional time. Most dining will close by 9:30 pm, except for the midnight meal (paid) from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am in Mason Ja and the free Sorento pizza (described later). For example, Windjammer's buffet is 9:00 pm and the main dining is closed at 9:30 pm). Room service can be used on board 24 hours a day, but costs $ 7. 95 and a 18 % chip per order.

If Windjamar is open until 10 or 11:00 pm, you can respond to passengers who enjoy lat e-night activities and families who pick up their children to adventure ocean activities after 9 pm.

There is too much to do

Considering how I love the many attractions on this ship, this may seem contrary to intuition, but please listen. There were many attractive activities, restaurants, and bars inside the ship, and it was so stressful that I could only stay three nights to experience as much as possible. To see as many shows as possible and participate in as many parties as possible, I marked too much on the CRUISE COMPASS notebook and became like a learning guide.

I always wanted to do various things during my vacation, but I tried to suppress the urge to pack too much. Eventually, I was satisfied with seeing all three original shows in the Royal Theater, Studio B, and Aqua Theater, trying as many bar as possible, and enjoying the perfect day in Cocoi.

Royal Caribbean doesn't complain about too much to do on a short trip. What better way to encourage bookings for a second sailing than to restrict it to a full experience on the first sailing?

Royal Railway - Utopia Station Seating Limits

Royal Railway - Utopia Station. Ashley Kociolek/The Points Guy

This immersive dining experience debuts on Utopia of the Seas and offers cruisers a unique opportunity to experience a virtual train journey and time travel at the same time. Two life-sized rail cars on board transport diners to the Old West. Bandits board the train and make demands. The 90-minute dinner show is a fun and unique attraction that's perfect for families.

Previous slide Next slide Royal Railway Utopia Station Ashley Kociolek

The challenge? Only 24 people can ride each of the two train cars. With such limited seating, even if there are two shows per night, the ship can only accommodate 96 passengers per night. So, if you want to ride the Royal Railway while Utopia of the Seas is sailing, make sure to book early to secure your tickets.

Thankfully, Royal Caribbean plans to add a second dining experience based on Marco Polo's Silk Road journey, adding show and meal times to the nightly schedule. In addition, they hinted that they are also planning daytime events, such as wine and whiskey tastings.

Cabins and Suites on Utopia of the Seas

Standard balcony cabin. Christy Torrey/The Points Guy

Utopia of the Seas has 2, 830 cabins and suites, with more than 20 types of accommodations to suit any budget and number of people. These include indoor (windowless) cabins, ocean view cabins, and cabins with balconies. Choose from a variety of suite options, including the new luxurious Solarium Suite, exclusive to Utopia of the Seas.

Virtual Balcony Cabin. Christy Torrey/The Points Guy Some interior cabins also feature virtual balconies, which feature 80-inch LED TVs with live views of the outside world.

The Royal Caribbean debuted the concept of balcony facing inside on an oasis class ship. Utopia of the Seeds allows you to reserve a conventional balcony facing the sea and a balcony overlooking board walks and central parks. (Inward rooms have no privacy, so if you don't want to look into the cabin, you need to be prepared to close the curtains.)

In addition, the wide pillow seemed suitable for queen beds, not a narrow twin bed. It's trivial, but I've moved the pillow a little too far and dropped a water bottle from the night table at night. The problem was solved just by moving the water bottle. The night table had a small hol e-like shelf that was convenient for putting necessary things, such as sleeping masks and PJs.

The pillow is wide, but has a moderate softness and flexibility, with a sufficient hardness. In addition, the mattress was incredibly comfortable and slept soundly every night. (Sleeping soundly is a hard time to achieve it.)

If you divide the bed into two twin beds, you will create a very narrow space between one bed and the balcony door. But I never spent on the balcony. Rather than because it was difficult to access the balcony, there were many other things on board.

I stayed with a basic balcony cabin, with two small night tables on the queen bed. The night table has a bedside lamp, and the base of the lamp has a US outlet and a USB port. I shared the cabin with my colleagues, so the room steward divided the queen bed and made two twin beds. Each had a night table, but the between the two beds was very narrow. When I reached out to my mobile phone on the night table several times in the middle of the night, I noticed that she was actually stuck at the end of the roommate mattress (fortunately she sleeps deeply).

The TV was hanging from the wall opposite the bed. Below it is five wall hooks, where strings, towels, hats, etc. can be hung.
