When it comes to the best projectors for PS5 and Xbox Series X, with 4K images and refresh rates, many models are competing for the top spot. In the last few years, two things have happened that make projector setups more feasible for next-gen consoles: prices have dropped and speeds have increased. That means you can now enjoy 4K HDR on a big screen with smooth frame rates.
It's always exciting when a new console finally arrives, but sometimes it can make you realize the limitations of your current setup. Maybe you've reached the limit of your TV and want to play on a 100-inch screen. Maybe what you thought was the best gaming projector for you worked for your old console but now shows its limitations. We're sure you'll find the best projector for your PS5 or Xbox Series X.
This list will grow as we test projectors for the Xbox Series X and PS5, so expect to see more HD, budget, and curved projectors alongside 4K projectors in the coming months. One last thing: Make sure the wall you're projecting onto is clean and white. If that's not an option, you can find a clean solution by buying the best projector screens and best outdoor projector screens.

This BENQ HT2050A projector has stood the test of time. Although this projector only offers a Full HD image and not the 4K of the latest devices, it's still the best budget projector for next-gen consoles.
3. Benq x1300iBest 1080p
If you value speed over resolution, this 1080p model from Benq is the way to go. You still get great picture quality and a 120Hz refresh rate, but you sacrifice some of the sharper 4K detail in the process.

Reasons to Buy 1080p Low Latency Mode Super Sharp Image Vertical Lens ShiftImproved Brightness and Contrast
Why Avoid It Same Specs as Previous ModelNo Dolby Vision
The BENQ X3100I takes over from the BENQ X3000I as the best projector for PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers. The latest flagship model from the established gaming projector brand delivers 4K images with the same 16ms latency as before, and even better brightness and contrast.
✅ 4K is a Must: The Benq X3100I produces a stunning 4K image that's worth taking advantage of on PS5 and Xbox Series X, while pixel-shifting to full UHD.
✅ Quick Picks Needed: If you don't care about UHD resolution, you can drop down to 1080p and experience the insane speed of 240Hz 4. 2ms.
The BENQ X3100I supports 4K HDR content from a variety of services and has Netflix built into the dongle.Don't buy it if
You want full 4K 120Hz: 60Hz is fine, but if you want the full power of the PS5's 4K 120Hz output, you'll need to look elsewhere.
❌ Space Tight: The X3000I is a chunky model compared to the likes of the X300G, so if you’re working in a tight space, we recommend a short throw projector or a portable.
At first glance, this is a very similar projector to the x3000i that came before it. Both models pack an angular aesthetic with curved corners and crisp white paintwork. The left panel controls are almost identical for both, except for the “New Lens Shift” option on the top of the X3100I. They also have the same gear under the hood, and a similar projection system inside. It’s true that the X3100I is an iterative update, but considering that you can only get the x3000I second-hand or refurbished these days, it’s the best product on the market right now.
But it does have some new features to keep things fresh. Brightness has improved to 3. 300 lumens (300 more than the x3000i and clearly better peripheral performance than the x300g), and contrast has jumped from 500. 000:1 to 600. 000:1. While it still can't escape the muddy scenes (in the Assassin's Creed: Mirage test, beiges and browns started to look a little darker), the block colors and vibrant images are incredible. Astro's Playroom seems to pop off the walls with incredible clarity and razor-sharp attention to detail.
Dropping down to 1080p, I was impressed with how smooth it was when playing fast games like Apex Legends at full power at 240Hz. Input and response times are almost the same as a full-sized TV or monitor, and I never noticed any latency issues. This is not a given. Very few PS5 or Xbox Series X projectors can achieve such a feat. The only complaint I had during testing was the lack of Dolby Vision support, but that's really just a PC issue, and since both are sticking with HDR10, it shouldn't be an issue.
Add to that the easy vertical lens shift system that lets you quickly adjust the image, the easy-to-use side focus and zoom, and the cleverly named adjustment settings in the software that let you easily apply special optical profiles created for each game, and the BENQ X3100I's position at the top of the market is solidified.

Reasons to buy Vertical lens shift Great valueImproved Brightness and Contrast
Slightly narrow vertical lens shift rangeThe mid-range projector market is a bit of a crowded one. But the BenQ HT2050A has proven to be a favorite with gamers over the past few years, and as such, it's definitely one of the best projectors for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
✅ Low price is a priority: If you're watching your bank balance, this cheaper model will be especially interesting. You'll enjoy big-screen entertainment without the more impressive features.
✅ You want customization features: The BenQ HT2050A doesn't skimp on adjustment options, with vertical lens shift and easy base stem correction.
✅ Still want a decent response time: A spec rarely seen in such budget projectors.
The BENQ X3100I supports 4K HDR content from a variety of services and has Netflix built into the dongle. You want full 4K resolution: If you think you'll miss out on the full UHD resolution of the PS5 or Xbox Series X, you're better off spending your money on a slightly more expensive device.
❌ Your budget stretches to new models: This is an older device, so discounts are common, but it's a good buy if you can afford some new features.
It may not be completely cutting edge anymore, but you can often get a good, tried and tested projector that has stood the test of time at a bargain price.
The key stat is input latency, which is surprisingly low at 16ms in gaming-only mode. This alone will make any serious gamer's hips spineless. Brightness is also highly rated, and is regularly found to be better than others in its price range. A product in this price range will struggle to handle midday sunlight through a large patio door or outdoors during the day, but it handles ambient light well.
Vertical lens shift is a rare feature in mid-range projectors, and is a nice luxury that makes installation easier. However, the angle of vertical lens shift is minimal, so if you have a specific installation location in mind, you'll need to make sure it fits. The image's deep color really brings out the bright city lights of New York in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. You can enjoy 4K HD footage, but if you want a great projector for the same price as a new console, this is the one to go for. Best 1080p projectors for PS5 and Xbox Series X

Need to install Android dongle yourself X1300i is 1080p It's a projector, but it has the gaming performance to match.✅ Speed is a priority: With ultra-low input latency and a full 120Hz refresh rate, speed is king. It's perfect for competitive gamers who want a silky smooth experience.
✅ You don't need 4K resolution: If you don't care about a UHD image, the X1300i's other features are worth the investment.
✅ You have limited shelf space: The tall shape of the X1300i means it has a smaller footprint than other devices.
If you don't have a lot of shelf space, the X1300i is a better choice:
The BENQ X3100I supports 4K HDR content from a variety of services and has Netflix built into the dongle.Only for slow games: If you don't play games that take advantage of this low input latency and 120Hz refresh rate, there's no point investing in this technology.
The input latency is only 8 ms, the refresh rate is up to 120 Hz, which is comparable to the best gaming monitor, far apart from most of the standard projectors. I acknowledge that it is more suitable for 4K projectors than the 1080P display projector, but if the PS5 projector focuses on gaming speed and ability to reflect the best and most smooth images for the game, This projector will be a serious candidate.
In addition to pure speed spec, the X1300i has three gaming modes: RPG, FPS, and sports. As a result, it is perfect for you, whether you play on the pitch of soccer (British or American version), run in a lush landscape, or navigate a dark passage full of enemies. Image mode is prepared and you can emphasize the sound you want to concentrate on each with a custom audio profile. These modes are perfect for video monitoring, for example, sports mode is perfect for field green and contrasting kits.
The X1300i is taller than a general model, but the installation area on the shelf is smaller. The Android interface is not buil t-in but built into dongle and needs to be installed. Installation is only once, but it is troublesome. There is also the usual problem that Netflix and other apps are not approved for use on this model and need another media source.
If you are looking for a home projector and are going to be used mainly for games, especially very ful l-fledged games, this projector has become a standard to defeat.

Incredible small shots Buil t-in app Samsung pedigree Reason to avoidImproved Brightness and Contrast
Really wonderful products not only meet the expectations before the release, but also exceed it. Last year, Samsung announced a projector for the first time in 10 years, and quickly became the most expected projector in the last few years. The LSP7T is still a premium product, but the two are inexpensive.✅ There is not much space: LSP7T ultr a-small footprint design is perfect for working in a particularly narrow space.
This is a lon g-term investment: This device costs a lot of money, but if you buy it for long distances, it is well worth it.
✅ I want a stat e-o f-th e-art monitor: This Samsung display generation is operating for all generations, so 4K images can be obtained on the top model.
Please do not buy the following people:
The BENQ X3100I supports 4K HDR content from a variety of services and has Netflix built into the dongle.I want a larger image: If you want something that exceeds this 12 0-inch screen, you need to check more expensive LSP9T models.
LSP7T is a wonderful product that will be a projector's monument for a while in the Premiere series. Because it has the same OS as Samsung's smart TV, you don't need to turn on the game console every time you see Netflix. The input latency is 53 milliseconds (not special). All of the huge open world games of recent game consoles will look surprisingly beautiful with images like this clear and laser rays.
For reference, the main difference between LSP7T and LSP9T lies in the light source. The larger LSP9T is an HDR image obtained from the triple laser system (one laser one for each main color), while the LSP7T has only one laser in the entire image, so the image is slightly smaller. The 12 0-inch video of this quality can be realized at an amazing distance of 1. 5 feet (about 1. 5 meters) from the viewing surface. In the expensive model, the buil t-in speaker is slightly upgraded, but the volume is still loud and beautiful.

Equipped with HDMI 2. 1 Yes, Benq X300G drops HDMI to 2. 0 and cannot run 4K game play at full 120Hz. But if you are in trouble with space, it may be necessary.✅ Play on game consoles and portable machines: X300G not only supports Xbox and PS5 input, but can also charge and display Nintendo Switch and laptops via USB-C cable. Very convenient for quick sessions.
✅ If you want a simple setup: Automatic setting is abundant and you can control detailed settings, so it is a particularly eas y-t o-set projector.
✅ There is not much space:
Easy to install anywhere:
The BENQ X3100I supports 4K HDR content from a variety of services and has Netflix built into the dongle.I often play in a bright room during the day. In the test, it turned out that there was a problem in environmental light in dark scenes.
The iconic Boxy White housing, black front panel, red accent, the X300G is in harmony with other branded gaming series. The actual aesthetic sensation suits the PlayStation rather than the mono rock of Xbox, but the clear white makes you feel a sense of luxury and premium no matter what you put next to you. However, this is a story when viewed in the photo.
In real life, this is a much more compact system than before, especially in small settings. I put it on the edge of a desk about 10 feet from the projection wall, but everything was operated smoothly. But it's a bit too heavy to think that you can really carry it. It is easy to move from the room to the room, but it is too big and too heavy to carry it in a backpack.
The X300G can be displayed at 60Hz for 4K and 240Hz for 1080p. This is very competitive in consideration of low input latency and mi d-low price range. But the X300G secret weapon is its multifunctionality. A huge amount of automatic adjustment options are provided, and all of them work a little better than what you saw in the past, so you can easily migrate the entire setup.
Yes, with everything tweaked, you get better speed and less distortion. Being able to plug in and sit down for a quick session is priceless. There's also a powerful sound system built in for those who don't want to plug into a headset.
Playing Skyrim and Horizon on the PS5 West was a dream under the right conditions. Colors popped brightly and detail was well-represented. The image degraded a bit when ambient light mixed in, with a lot of detail lost, especially in dark scenes. The sunlit image is still more than a game, but it's more impressive at night. That's when the oranges and blues of Evil West really shine, and Horizon's jeweled landscapes could have been better represented.
The BENQ X300G is a great gaming projector and the best stock-only option right now for PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers. It's a bit slower, but the great ease of use and flexibility more than make up for it.
Choosing the right PlayStation 5
In November, Sony will launch the PlayStation 5 Pro, an upgraded version of the PS5. We've added more details about what to look forward to in the "What to look forward to" section.
September 2024
The PlayStation 5 is the console you want to get if you want to play video games like The Last of Us, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and God of War. Many of these games will eventually be released on PC, but they'll be playable for the first time on the PlayStation 5, making it the best choice for gamers of all ages and hobbies.Sony has replaced the original PS5, three years after its release, with the new PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition. The refreshed console is (slightly) smaller, but it's not really an upgrade from the existing PS5, and if you already have a PS5, there's no reason to enjoy the Slim model. Here's everything you need to know about the latest PlayStation.

PS5 features
Sony released PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition in the fall of 2023.To be clear, I don't think you'll need to buy your PlayStation 5 with a thin one, unless you have any problems or to give it to someone. The new version of these PS5 does not provide graphic upgrades or other benefits for games. Instead, the new model of PlayStation 5 promises smaller footprints and some others.
PS5 Slim is (slightly) small. The biggest sales point that Sony has renewed PS5 is "thin", but this difference is not as big as I think. The first "PlayStation 5" was a huge height of 15 inches, about 10 inches of depth, and a width of 4 inches (in the case of a disk version), and weighed about 10 pounds. The PS5 slim is a little small, about 14 inches in height, about 8. 5 inches depth, with a width of 3. 77 inches, and weighs just over 7 pounds. In line with, the difference is visible, but not dramatic, and PS5 slim is still a wonderful game console.
Compared to the original PS5, it has two USB-C ports. The original PS5 had one USB-C port and one USB-A port, but the PS5 Slim has an additional USB-C port. However, there is a caveat: the top USB-C port is USB Hi-Speed, which is useful for charging controllers, but not much else. The bottom connector is a SuperSpeed USB-C port, designed for PlayStation VR2, just like the PS5 boot. I'm not going to complain about having more USB-C ports on a device, but the existing PS5 can charge controllers just fine with the included USB-A to USB-C cable, so it's not a reason to upgrade.

Sony released PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition in the fall of 2023.You can add a drive to the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition. PlayStation sells an additional drive for the drive-less version of the PS5 Slim, but the upgrade costs $80, making the system entirely more expensive than simply buying the version with the drive to start. The PS5 Slim with Blu-ray 4K drive allows you to remove the drive. There's one catch, though: the connected drive must be activated through an online authentication process.

Sony released PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition in the fall of 2023.The PS5 Slim Digital Edition is more expensive than the traditional version. The PS5 Digital Boot is $50 cheaper than the Slim Digital Edition. This price difference doesn't even cover the cost of major releases like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 or Final Fantasy XVI, which cost around $70 each. And while digital games are being released more frequently than before, disc games are more often available in more places and have steeper disc discounts. Disc-based games can also be bought, sold, and traded. If you can save $20 per game by buying used discs, the expensive disc-based PS5 Slim will pay for itself with just a few used games.
What you get with the PS5

For example, God of War: Ragnarok offers high-resolution modes and 120Hz support for compatible TVs on PS5, but also on PS4. PS5 exclusives have been delayed. But that's changing with Final Fantasy XVI and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 being released exclusively on PS5 in 2023. But even if you're not expecting PS5 exclusives, here's what else you'll get if you upgrade from PS4.
God of War: Ragnarok Image
New games with improved graphicsThe PlayStation 5 has a newer, more powerful generation of graphics hardware than previous consoles, and the effects should be noticeable in a variety of ways. In most new games, we can expect high resolutions, high frame rates, and more detailed characters and environments than we've seen on PlayStation 4. We can also expect flashy gimmicks with physical properties such as smoke and fog, and lighting that behaves and reflects more like real-world light.
This last part is particularly likely to improve as the generation progresses. PlayStation 5 GPUs are hardware acceleration, a kind of graphics performance that enables more sophisticated visual effects and writing. Letters, such as Spide r-Man: Miles Morales, uses Ray Mount reflection to achieve a more realistic reflection surface, and the "2021: lift" of "Ratchet & Crank" is the same. Late racing has been advertised for many years as a holy grail of video games graphics, but developers have only traced the surface of the next few years.
Higher frame rate and performance
Developers are still learning how to make the most of PS5 more powerful graphics technology, but the improvement of PlayStation 5 hardware is also reflected in other parts. Because PS5 is equipped with powerful CPUs, more, more faster user interfaces, shortening load time, more sophisticated characters and games, and more, as they could not be realized with PS4 or Xbox One. Content can be displayed on the screen.
Battlefield 2042 Image
However, the biggest improvement should have appeared in a frame rate that achieves 60 frames/ seconds much more frequently than PS4. The higher the number of frames per second, the more frequent communication between the controller and the game, and the more response of the operation. More dynamic hardware builds a wider world and enables more players to participate in games. Some games originally released for PlayStation 4 include "Performance" mode that unlocks frame rate on PS5, and many games such as these games have a great performance and response. It should be improved. In addition, Sony from Sony, including "God of War" (2018), "Ghost of Tsushima", "Last of As Part II", "Days of Awa Lives", and "Horizon Zero Dawn". Many of the PlayStation 4 exclusive software have updated their performance to 60 frames per second (the load time has also been significantly improved).
Speed of storage and shortening load time
In PlayStation 5, all games and save data are stored on PCI e-based drives and combined with other custom hardware and hig h-speed processors, compared to the old generation that used a mechanical hard disk drive. The launch of the machine, the start of the game, and the loading time in the game will be greatly improved. Many PS4 games also work more comfortably with PlayStation 5.
Hig h-speed user experience
The PlayStation 5 user interface is designed to utilize the game console solid state storage and more powerful CPUs, achieving faster navigation and many new features. When PlayStation 5 is launched, the difference is obvious at a glance, only over 20 seconds from the powered state to the user login screen. The return from Standby mode is about 6 seconds, which has been significantly improved than the previous generation.
In the PS5 game, it is not necessary to change the settings for each game because the game console is instructed to default a specific setting, such as the inverted operation of the display, the firs t-person viewpoint or the thir d-person viewpoint, and the other general settings.
When sig n-in is completed, you will be able to quickly access several groups, such as games, media apps, and settings. Tap the PlayStation button on the PS5 dual sense controller to display the control center. This is to instantly speed up the most common and important options that most gamers need during the system use. This panel includes notifications, music playback controls, sound levels, friendlists, and system standby.
PlayStation 5 UI with a control center. image
The PS5 operating system has evolved attractively from PS4, and in a sense, navigating gates faster than the previous model. If you want to access games and apps as soon as possible, there are much less buttons to push. However, even if you want to do more complex operations, there is enough navigation to go to the place you want. PlayStation 5 can be evaluated as part of a superficial but attractive new console for the transfer user from PlayStation 4, but is far from the ease of use in the PlayStation 4 OS.Dual sense controller
What can be obtained by joining PlayStation Plus
The PlayStation 5 controller is a dual sense game pad, the touchpad button, the shared buttons of the PS4 "Pas t-DualShock 4", and the basic layout are inherited. However, DualSense is slightly larger, similar to the Xbox controller, with a larger face button, tight sticks, and a more sharp actuator. On the back of the controller, there is a light texture like Xbox Series X and S controller. The dual sense actuator also features a tactile feedback and can add resistance to generating various types of feedback. Regarding vibration, dual sense uses coil actuators instead of simple vibration actuators to get more effects. In addition, the controller is equipped with a speaker again, a built-in microphone array (with noise canceling microphone on the bottom of the pad), and a USB-C port for charging.

Sony also offers a Pro controller called Dual Sense Edge, which is easier to customize and accurate standard dual sense.
How about PlayStation VR2?
PS VR2. Photo: Marki Williams
PlayStation VR2 is designed as a companion of PlayStation 5. Since one USB-C cable uses one USB-C cable, it is not a standalone headset, but it is comfortable, easy to set up, beautifully looks, and the simplicity of the game machine level is more simplified than any other headset. Give it to VR.The PS VR2 is more comfortable and easier to adjust than other hig h-grade headsets because it uses a "Hello" wiring system on the top of the head. Also, it was easy to put on and take off, and it was the easiest to attach a headset around the glasses. There is a 2000 x 2040 OLED display on both eyes, minimizing the "screenboard" effect, and the hig h-rate rate mode of 90Hz and 120Hz should be useful for reducing VR motion sickness for some users.
The PS VR2 glasses also have an IR camera that enables complete itlacking.

The PS VR2 uses an internal tracking and custom sense controller, and if you have used a VR setup in recent years, you should feel familiar. As a result, a very good material was made. Currently, PS VR2 is $ 550, and there is no abundant games that can be obtained with Meta's Quest headset or other P C-based headsets because it is not compatible with the previous generation PS VR software library. Except that VR mode has been added to games such as Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil 7 Resident Evil: Village, most of the options for exclusive software are available on other platforms.
The original PlayStation VR Headset Series (both versions released in 2016 and Sony's slightly improved updates released in 2018) are compatible with PlayStation 5, but it requires a PlayStation camera, so Sony is Sony. You need a special adapter that you can only order.

Sony released PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition in the fall of 2023.However, PS5 is equipped with a standard NVME drive extension slot. It supports PCIe 4. 0 drive and can save and run games from this extended storage. PlayStation recommends a premium and hig h-speed PCIe 4. 0 NVME drive, which requires a heat sink. However, Digital Foundry, a reliable source of video game technology, uses a variety of drives in a test that uses a variety of drives, and has a good result on a good but not highly advanced drive, and the same is true for various devices. The performance and load speed are proven.
We recommend Samsung 980 Pro NVME NVME SSD for PlayStation 5 owners who are considering expanding storage. We purchased our own heat sink to attach it to the driving sold without a heat sink, but Samsung is currently offering 980 Pro with a pr e-installed heat sink. I recommend it. Attaching an afte r-market heat sink is not as difficult as a nightmare, but it took a few minutes to save a few dollars. This is accompanied by a process (video) that is not particularly difficult to open a PlayStation 5 and attach a drive.
PS5 games can also be transferred and saved to external devices (but they cannot be played from there), so these drives will help you to r e-download the game in the future.
For PS4 titles with rear compatible, games can be stored and played via external storage options, and USB SSD options are much higher and cheaper than adding NVME drive. All you have to do is connect an external portable SSD drive such as Samsung T7 Shield, a similar drive, or a simple SSD connected with a USB-Sata cable.
If you want to save a lot of PS4 games and enjoy it later, a USB hard disk drive like Western Digital My Passport Ultra is the best. The loading time is slightly improved than PlayStation 4, and such a drive cannot be used for PS5 software, but there is nothing better than the price per gigabytes.
If you are already using PlayStation 4, you can use PlayStation 5. If you connect the drive, the installed PS4 compatible game will be automatically displayed and the necessary updates will be played.

PlayStation Plus has two additional ranks worth considering.
It's not a pass game, but PlayStation Plus EXTRA has many games. PlayStation Plus is an additional $ 5 per month, but you can download the PS4 and PS5 game catalogs. PlayStation Plus Premium includes all the benefits of EXTRA, as well as the downloaded version of original PlayStation, PS2, PSP games, and PS3 titles.
However, PlayStation's major first-party games cannot be played with PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium titles are provided monthly, but unlike Xbox Game Pass, they do not include day one access to first-party titles such as God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and The Last of Us. For a full list of available games, check official channels such as the PlayStation Blog.
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium allow you to enjoy certain PlayStation 3 titles. Some PlayStation 3 titles are also available to Extra and Premium subscribers, but can only be accessed via streaming. Therefore, access and performance are subject to the Internet connection and the overall latency between the game console and the PlayStation®Store servers.
PlayStation Plus Essential has increased from $60 to $80 per year, Extra from $100 to $135, and Premium from $120 to $160. These changes still reflect a modest discount compared to the PlayStation Plus monthly fee, but we're not thrilled with the price hike.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PS5 Pro will be launched without a drive, but the PlayStation 5 Slim add-on drive is also compatible with the Pro. But that would put the price of a PS5 Pro with a drive closer to the $800 mark, which, frankly, seems too expensive for most people. More details about the PS5 Pro are expected to be revealed closer to its launch date on November 7, but for now, it seems too expensive for anyone other than avid gamers and buyers with deep pockets.
