Daisy Lady Special: Mama Ca x-Redefinated Disability

I knew Mama Cax on a podcast. She was talking about the wonderful things that were doing a disability. Of course, she had to stalk her Instagram soon, but she was overwhelmed by her stunning feed, a wonderful style, and her gorgeous look! She was increasing the number of followers of 135k or more, who longs for everything she is doing in the world of fashion and women's empowerment. The gal was young and overcome the cancer and lost one foot, but did not stop dreaming. Mama Cax is a shining example of strength, elegance, and bold sel f-expression. Through these things, she became known as a spokesperson for the crossing feminism movement.

I hoped for it, but I decided to contact me if she was interested in introducing it on our boss blog. Fortunately, she gave a speech at Los Angeles at the ultimate girl boss conference called Create & Amp; Cultivate! I am honored to have stopped by Biz Vibes, sewn between a busy schedule, and shot it together. We arranged the shooting about a month ago, and I was looking forward to that day. I wanted to do something more special than my usual office shooting, so I ran to a fashion street that morning and got a wonderful vintage cloth for the background. She came with a bag with wonderful clothes and accessories, including this magnificent wig. She said, "I want to make a fun and playful shooting!" I agree so much! Mama Cax is a very cool and honest girl, and we spent a wonderful time with photography and chatting. It's always great to be able to come across a very nice and familiar role model.

Mama Cook First, first, please tell us about yourself. What about your hometown and full name?

I was born in Brooklyn, but from Haiti. Until I returned to New York in 2004, I spent most of my childhood in Haiti. MAMA CAX is my blog name, but most people call it a product. He has a bachelor's bachelor's degree and a master's degree, but is now a ful l-time blogger and model.

You are a talented woman! What are you doing?

I don't think I fit into one box. Outside of blogging and modeling, I often speak at events and conferences on topics ranging from intersectional feminism, body image, and sex positivity. Ultimately, I want to bring the perspective of disabled women to these spaces.

I love hearing about how you went from working in government to becoming a fashion icon and traveling the world. What prompted this change? What does fashion and self-expression mean to you?

It was totally unplanned. I always thought I would end up working for a non-profit. While working in the mayor's office, I was creating and growing a brand outside of my 9-5 job, although I didn't know it at the time. When I realized I could get paid to create content for brands I love, from curating Instagram feeds to blogging about travel and body image, it all started to pay off. Hoping to get a better-paying position, I took a year off to get my master's degree. Life doesn't always work out as planned, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. After I had the opportunity to model in a Wet n Wild campaign, I decided to sign with a modeling agency. I am who I am today by pure chance, but I can't deny the hard work that went into it. People tend to label me organically, and with that comes negative assumptions. Fashion is one of the many ways I let the world know who I am: a risk-taker, confident, and creative.

Where have you traveled and why?

I studied abroad in Europe and I've also been backpacking solo in Southeast Asia. I think I've been to 35 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Every country has given me amazing memories. Dreamy landscapes, perfect weather, and 22 hours of daylight. I love dreamy landscapes, perfect weather, and 22 hours of daylight. If I could choose more than one, I'd have to add Haiti (because it's always been home), Côte d'Ivoire, South Africa, and Thailand. These countries have great food and vibrant cultures, from the clothes to the music.

How do you think surviving cancer and amputation at 16 shaped you as a person?

By overcoming cancer, I think that I came to enjoy a small victory in my life and want to live as much as possible. If you can start over, you always say you can't change it. There is no doubt that I have been grateful for my adaptation ability now because of this experience.

You are a great supporter of the body positive exercise. Why is this exercise important to all women, not just you?

Until I participated in Instagram, I didn't know this movement. For a long time, this exercise was an exercise for a positiv e-sized woman (mainly white) to accept her body, but I've seen other women gradually involve (thank you). 。 I often use the word narcissism, but for me, it means blessing and enhancing the body that has been altered for a long time, such as plus size, hairy, queer, transformer, diverse skin hue, disabled persons. I am doing it. I think sel f-awareness has a strong connection with sel f-esteem.

You have lived a rich and colorful life without being disturbed by the disability. What is "obstacle" for you? After posting to our Instagram story, some girls who were struggling to accept and show their prostheses in the same way, like you. What is an important message to them?

By having a disability, I have found a new community and can see our world with different lenses. In my case, I showed my prosthesis, but I understand that this society is not very acceptable. What I want to say to other girls wearing a prosthesis is to do what you feel comfortable and try to love yourself at your own pace.

I am very honored to be able to talk to the women who have always been invited to a meeting or event, and the women who have inspired me, and the women who continue to inspire me. 。 nice!
