It's hard to be a Mets fan, but the 7 Line Army is ready to party in New York for a wild-card miracle.

Die-hard Mets fans and local celebrities like "Pin Man" and a dog named "Mira G Iggy" gathered at a Midtown bar on Tuesday for a watch party full of optimism -- even though supporters are used to heartbreak.

Free beer flowed at Playwright's Irish Pub, bartenders poured purple drinks called "Grimous Punch," and strangers cried together.

According to party organizers, there's only one word to describe the atmosphere: "electric."

"The Mets fans were wall-to-wall crazy. You'd think they'd just won the World Series," Darren Meenan, founder of the famed 7 Line Army, told the Post.

Meenan, who started the season with "zero expectations," had just 24 hours to throw an over-produced party after Monday's rollercoaster performance that propelled him to the Wild Card Round of the MLB Playoffs.

The pub on 35th Street is home to the Mets' away games during the postseason, meaning the 7th corps hasn't been to the Playwrights since the team made the playoffs in 2015.

The Mets have only made the postseason three times since then, two of which were on the Citi Field turf. The Mets have faltered each time.

That historic rift was notably absent on Tuesday -- the nearly 200 fans chanted, yelled and sang together to celebrate every little base run, catch and strikeout.

Even some of the biggest names in the franchise joined in the frenzy, including "Pin Man" Nick Giampietro, "Cowbell Man" Eddie Boyson and Mila "the Iggy," the glamorous Italian Greyhound who made headlines this summer by devouring a hot dog on the Jumbotron.

"We wanted to be with the Mets fans," said Giampietro, 66, of Howard Beach, wearing the iconic glow-in-the-dark pin.

"It's a different kind of energy. There are no Yankee fans here.

The pub's first floor was packed to capacity, forcing revelers to walk out onto the street. Owner John Dougherty usually opens up both floors to his 7th Line Army playwrights' theater, but that night he had promised to use the second floor for a vice presidential debate viewing party.

"We love having them. They're great fans and we're all here for the same reason. The energy is amazing.

"The fans are rooting for the Mets, win or lose. They come as one, and they leave as one," Pinman told the Post. Michael Nagel

And the revelers were well prepared for the game to end in heartbreak again.

Aidan Hughes, 29, of Astoria, told the Post that the Mets had a "good chance" of winning the game.

"I've been a Mets fan for almost 30 years, and I feel like they've lived up to my expectations. I'm a realist, but I think it's definitely possible that they can make it to the next round and face the Phillies," he said.

The Wild Card Series will be the fourth to witness for the seventh line since the club's inception in 2012. The team was born from an apparel line of the same name that Meenan, 43, created three years ago out of pure love for the team.

Meenan estimates that the Mets' fanbase fills three sections for every home game at Citi Field, putting an average of 850 chips on their seats per game.

The team attends games across the U. S. and is only four away from visiting all 30 MLB stadiums.

But Meenan stressed the importance of coming together at home to support the Mets from afar, and nearly 200 fans answered the call.

"It's a really fun year for the team, so I'm going to enjoy one minute and one second, and it's more fun to experience with others," said Bayridge's Karen.

Energy remained high all night, but Jesse Winker's two-run and three-base hits and Stirling Marte's runs reached the level of pandemonium three times, leading 3-2.

When Mets showed a 5-goal explosion, the chaotic delight exploded again.

When the blinker hit J. D. Martinez, he released one run that ensured his first victory in the series, and it was even more exciting.

Fans won Mets's second round and hopes to open the way to the Bananza World Series.

"On the day of the opening, someone came to my seat and asked about my optimism. I answered," I don't expect this team at all. "I'm surprised if they entered the playoffs. I guess, of course, "And this is really crazy.

"If you look at the fun and strange events that happen in this team, it's like you've never seen it in your life. I'm 44 years old. This season is like a roller coaster. I'm looking forward to it.
