Technical requirements
Make sure to confirm these technical requirements to make sure your system is compatible with Onvue online test software. If your system does not meet the requirements and a problem occurs during the exam, the cost of the exam r e-schedule will be borne by the customer.
Note: The most frequent causes of technical issues are (1) tests on computers provided by the employer and (2) with low reliable Internet connections. ONVUE software may not work correctly due to the firewall or security settings of the compute r-supplied computer. Connections may be interrupted for low reliable Internet connections (wireless networks, hotels, VPNs (prohibited), mobile hot spots, etc.). For this reason, it is strongly recommended to use a personal computer (not paid by the employer) and a wired Ethernet connection.
Policy and procedure
ONVUE exams are flexible, convenient and easy. However, ONVUE also has its own rules and requirements. It is strongly recommended to understand these well before taking the exam for the best exam experience.
The following documents explain the standard policy and procedures for online exams. Your program may have additional requirements listed in another location on this page. By understanding this information well, you can take the exam smoothly, from chec k-in to logout.
FAQ
Before the exam
Q. Where can I take the exam?
A. Exams must be performed in a closed, private space that can maintain a powerful and stable Internet connection, prevent interruption, and protect the integrity of the test content. Testing in the bathroom is not allowed. If there is only a quiet place that can be used at home, we recommend that you look for another test venue.
Important: Avoid test space with windows and glass partitions that can be seen by third parties.
Q. How can you see that your computer works with ONVUE software?
A. First, check the minimum system requirements so that your system works reliably with our software. Next, perform a system test by the test date and download ONVUE software.
On the day of the exam, it is strongly recommended that you perform a system test again and check the system before starting the exam. If you have any problems, log in to your account and change the test schedule. If you can't schedule the exam, contact the customer service of each program using the chat function.
Q. How can you see that your computer works with ONVUE software?
A. In the system test, check the following items:
- ONVUE application and security browser download
- Decompressing and launching a secure browser
- Mike/ Web Camera/ Speaker functions and permissions
- Download speed
- General communication between ONVUE and Pearson Vue server
- Live video streaming connection
Q. How do you set the ONVUE test schedule?
A. After confirming that your computer meets the system requirements, sign in to your account. Select the exam you want to take and select the Home or Office option. We will make an exam reservation according to the remaining prompts. You will receive a confirmation email with the details of the reservation and the important information on the day of the exam.
Q. Is it okay to test my exam space?
A. Before starting the exam, the test director makes this decision. At chec k-in, take a picture of the test space.
To get good results, secure private and secure space. Remove preparations and unaccepted items from the room. Put out the plug of the additional monitor (and if applicable, the system) or turn off the power. If you can see anything on the wall, such as sticky notes, whiteboards, blackboards, etc., you may be inspected by the examiner and may be required to remove such a thing.
Important: If the test venue fails to the room scan, the exam fee may not be allowed and the exam fee may be confiscated.
Q. Can I take the exam on a compan y-supplied computer?
A. It is possible, but not recommended. Candidates can usually have a good experience with personal computer. This is because the employer's computers are likely to have firewalls, VPNs, and other security policies, and the video streaming during the test may be blocked. If you have to take an exam on an employer's computer, it is important to check the technical requirements.
Q. Is it possible to connect with tethering to mobile and hot spots?
A. I do not recommend it. Hot spot technology is not ideal for maintaining a reliable and stable connection. Perform a system test to ensure the best performance on the day of the exam.

Q. I don't see the check-in button. What should I do?
A. To check in for your exam, log in to your account at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Once you log in, you will see the check-in button. If you don't see the check-in button 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment, please chat with the program's customer service team.

You will then be placed in a waiting line while the proctor reviews your check-in procedure. Please note that other candidates may be ahead of you in line. The OnVUE application will show you where you are in line. Most exams are started by the proctor within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time.
If you are later than this, there may be an issue with your photo or internet connection. If there is an issue with your photo, the proctor will try to contact you by chat or mobile phone. You will see "Pearson VUE" on the caller ID or a phone number with a "617" area code. If you have not heard from them after 30 minutes, you may have lost connection. If this is the case, please contact our customer service team via Pearson OnVUE Support live chat. As a reminder, keep your mobile device out of reach during the exam.
