The scope is an important ranking signal in the Instagram algorithm. In other words, audience behavior is an important factor in posting time. Thinking about the time when the audience moves, and making a plan accordingly, you can get the most attention.
Instagram brand accounts tend to gain the most engagement early in the morning, but the social group Hootsuite recommends to adjust the strategy a little when posting to your personal account.
"If you manage your brand account, I think it's always a good idea to post to Instagram early a day, but most of your personal accounts, for example, your Instagram account. I think people prefer to post at 8 or 9 o'clock.
The team also pointed out that there may be an industry that is lucky on Instagram when people are scrolling at night. For example, people tend to do hunting, shopping, and watching videos in the second half of the day.

Regarding Facebook's algorithm, both past achievements and followers are important.
Also, while paying attention to the difference in the time zone, I would like to consider when the target audience tends to move.
Regardless of the platform, I want to always post to the target audience time zone.
"Our biggest hints are always targeting the time zones of viewers. In our case, North America and the UK are the main targets. At 10 o'clock, you need to be a little faster in the UK's audience, "said Trish Swick.
The good news is that nearly half of users check Facebook many times a day, spending more time on this social media platform than many other platforms.

Best timing to post to Linkedin
According to our analysis, the best time to post to Linkedin is from 7:00 am to 8 pm on weekdays. The user base of this platform is engaged consistently throughout the week!

- Thursday: 5 am to 11:00 pm
- Friday: 7 am to 9pm
- Saturday: 9 am to 5 pm
- Sunday: 9 am to 1:00 pm
According to Trish, it is best to post various types of content throughout the day in Linkedin. "I tend to post a lot of sentences in the morning and post videos in the afternoon," she says.
This is because people tend to be interested in videos and featur e-length content in the latter half of the day, while they generally look for content that is readable early in the morning.
"In LinkedIn, early morning tends to produce better results, but afternoon posts may hits explosively. Most of the professionals wake up at 5:00 in the morning. However, Linkedin is now a lot of success in Linkedin, although many young professionals are browsing.
Liswick emphasizes the importance of not deciding on Linkedin readers. Currently, more than 78 % of Linkedin users are outside the United States. Understanding who is your market, and how they are most likely to be online is the key to a hig h-performance posting strategy.

Like Instagram, X-algorithm (Twitter) prioritizes the appearance and emphasizes trends. According to Twitter, the topic will be determined based on "popular topics, but popular topics for a while or on a daily basis."
Use events such as super bowls and awards. For example, by utilizing events such as a super bowl, you can get more attention by posting content related to those events. However, Hootsuite's social team warns that these events can take out content that are not directly related to them.
"As a criterion for posting, it's wise to keep in mind what is happening in the world. For example, if social media is really busy in a super bowl, post it at that specific time or that day. You may want to stop because the number of engagement decreases, "says Irene.
When the Hootsuite social team examined the data, the highest success rate was to post from 7:00 am to 10:00 on weekdays (Pacific standard time).
X is popular in the main social media platform for news and current affairs. Therefore, according to Trish, posting to X is the target in the morning.
"We recently conducted a public opinion poll and suggested that we should post something more responsive in the morning and lunch break when people are just preparing to go to work. I think that's a high possibility that I want to start reading a day. "
The main (X) statistics of Twitter that you want to remember when deciding the best time zone for tweeting:
- Approximately 250 million people visit X every day
- 80 % of the X user sessions accompanied by video viewing.
- 23 % of Americans get news from X
23 % of those who use Twitter are receiving 23 % time

Time to post to tiktok
- Monday: 3:00 pm
- Tuesday: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
- Wednesday: 3 pm to 5:00 pm
- Thursday: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Thursday: 3 pm to 5 pm
- Friday: 3:00 pm at 3:00 pm Friday: 12:00 pm
According to our data, weekends are not a good time for companies to post to Tiktok.
Not surprisingly, Tiktok spends the most time in the spare time of the app.
If you belong to an industry with many early morning channels, such as finance and politics, we recommend that you adjust the posting time at Tiktok late.
Tiktok's algorithm takes a little longer than other platforms to post videos and display them on appropriate streams. In other words, you need to read ahead of other platforms and be a little patient.
Irene's advice says, "Don't be disappointed even if the number of views is small in the first few hours that the post was released. Tiktok videos tend to take 24 hours for being completely deleted, so sufficient engagement immediately. We recommend that you continue to post even if you do not get it.
Another important thing: Tiktok doesn't always post videos that you pressed "Public" for the second time, so you need to keep in mind when you make a strategy for posting time. 。 In other words, post a video a little earlier than the time you want to display in the people's feed.
"In Tiktok, we struggled to learn that we should post a little earlier than the time we actually want to upload," Trish says. "Tiktok is trying to know what your video is and which algorithm should be classified as such an algorithm, so it can take a little time to actually upload a video. That's why. It is very important to add a keyword.
Are you in trouble with the Tiktok keyword? Please see the Tiktok SEO guide.
Main statistical information of Tiktok
- 53%of users use Tiktok for "interesting" content.
- Tiktok is the most growing channel for discovering products.
- Tiktok is the first place of the most downloaded app in more than 40 countries.
See the blog for more detailed Tiktok statistics.
The best time to post to the topic
According to our data, the best time to post to the thread is 8:00 am on Tuesday (PST).
Time to post to thread
- Monday: 9:00 A. M. PST
- Tuesday: 8:00 am (Pacific Standard Time)
- Wednesday: 12:00 pm (PST)
- Thursday: 9:00 am (Pacific Standard Time)
- Friday: 9: 00 A. M. PST Friday: 2: 00 P. M. PST
- Saturday: 12: 00 P. M. PST
- Sunday: 1:00 pm (PST)
Instagram thread algorithms work in the same way as Instagram algorithm in Facebook's algorithm, sorting the content based on the following:
- What you like in the past
- Possibility of interlacing with the post
- What is the possibility of pressing "likes" to the post?
And while thread feeds are technically generated by an algorithm (though they can be displayed chronologically), there's still something to be done to ensure they're in front of the right people at the right time in the right place.
"So far, we've found that our posting times align with Facebook and Instagram," says Eileen Kwok of social media group Hootsuite. "We've tested posting between 9am and 1pm and found that this time period works well for us and provides healthy engagement.
Eileen continues, "For issues, a lot of the engagement happens in the comments section. We've seen a lot of creators and brands respond to our posts and conversions start in the comments section.
For this reason, we recommend creating thread posts that are built to drive engagement, whether it's a question that's a direct answer or a topical discussion that lights up the comments section.
Here are some things to keep in mind as you get started with thread posts:
- Instagram Threads currently has 15 million 36 million active users. India has the most yarn users
- On average, users spend 6 minutes a day on yarn
- Struggling to find yarn? Check out 45 creative ideas. Plus, we'll show you how to schedule thread posts to hit your audience at the right time every time.
Best time to post on Pinterest
According to our data, the best times to post on Pinterest are Tuesdays and Fridays at 12:00 p. m. PST.
Posting times on Pinterest
Monday: 10 am
- Tuesday: 12:00 pm PST
- Wednesday: 10:00 am PST
- Thursday: 6 pm PST
- Friday: 12:00 pm PST
- Saturday: 1 pm PST
- Sunday: 4 pm PST
- Pinterest is where dreams come true. From kitchen inspo to style tips, trends, recipes and makeup advice, the world's 15th largest platform has something for everyone.
But unlike other social media platforms, Pinterest isn't built for algorithmic domination.
Pinterest is a place to plan your wedding or backyard makeover, not a place to scroll through endless video content for six hours a day (*cough*Tiktok*cough*cough*).
This is why Pinterest posts at different times and with different strategies than its competitors.
Your audience is unlikely to wake up and start scrolling Pinterest, but they may spend a lot of time on Pinterest at night planning their next project or hobby. The best time to post on Pinterest reflects this user information.
Eileen Kwok reminds users to focus on SEO on Pinterest, not just on the time of posting. "In my opinion, the platform prioritizes SEO strategy over posting time. If you put the right keywords in your caption and optimize your profile, your posts will be prioritized by the algorithm."
Here are some Pinterest stats to keep in mind as you start posting:
85% of Pinterest users say they use Pinterest to design new projects.
- Top Pinterest searches in the U. S. in 2024 include nails, dinner ideas, and hairstyles.
- Happy Pinterest ads are more memorable than unhappy ads.

#1 Social Media Tool
Make. Program. Post. Engage. Measure. Win.7 Factors that Influence the Best Time to Post on Social Media
Finding the best time to post on social media isn’t just about picking a random time and hoping for the best. It’s a mix of art and science that’s influenced by many factors that shape your audience’s online behavior.
So, how do you get the timing right?
1. Your Unique Audience
Your audience isn’t just statistics, they’re real people with their own quirks and habits. Understanding who they are is the first step to understanding when they’re most likely to scroll through their feed.
When deciding the best time to post on social media, consider your audience’s demographics (age, gender, location, interests) and social media habits.
Are they night owls or early birds? Do they have a 9-to-5 job or flexible hours? Knowing these details can give you clues about when they’re most active online.
Dig deeper with the analytics tools your social media platform offers.
Look for patterns in the times of day your audience is most engaged. For example, during the lunch break on weekdays or after dinner in the evenings.
Using this information, you can tailor your posting schedule to the times when you're most likely to capture their attention.
"Most users are chronically online these days, and everyone is competing for your attention on your stream. So invest in creativity, have a solid social media strategy, and learn how to properly track ROI so you can demonstrate the value you're providing," says Eileen.
Pro Tip: Having trouble identifying your target market? Check out our detailed guide to finding your target market.
2. Your industry.
Different industries have different paces of social media activity. What works for a fashion brand might not be the best strategy for a tech startup.
Think long and hard about the nature of your business and how your audience interacts with businesses like yours.
For example, if you're in the fitness industry, you might find that your fans are most active in the early morning or late afternoon when they're working out.
On the other hand, if you're in the entertainment industry, evenings and weekends might be your peak time when people are looking for something to do after a break.
Whether you learn tactics to emulate or simply identify pitfalls to avoid, it's worth listening to your industry. (You could also consider adding a publishing program to your ongoing social listening efforts.)
3. Competition
Keep an eye on what your competitors are doing. While you don’t want to copy them exactly, tracking their posting schedules can give you insight into when your audience is most active.
Take a poll (or do a full social competitive analysis) on your top-performing posts to see what patterns emerge or reverse engineer your competitors’ strategies.
At Hootsuite, for example, we’ve learned to avoid posting times because that’s what most brands do when they post.
Instead, we try to publish at 15 or 45 minutes to give our content a little more breathing room.
The industry benchmarking tool in Hootsuite’s analytics will show you how you stack up against your competitors. It even gives you personalized advice on how to get an edge over industry leaders.
4. Time Zones
Understanding your audience’s time zones is essential to ensure your posts reach them when they’re most likely to be online.
If your followers are spread across the globe, you’ll need to take into account the different time zones they live in.
For example, if you have fans in New York, London, and Tokyo while based in Vancouver, if you post at 9:00 am local time, you may reach the east coast's audience bright and faster, but are sleeping early. You may miss the engagement from your fans.
In Hootsuite, posting in the Pacific Standard Time in the morning or early afternoon is to keep the viewers of the entire North American (from PST to EST).
Channel you want to catch in the UK will be good in the early morning.
On the other hand, brands with many viewers in a specific area can also consider creating another handle name for their viewers. (There is an advantage that doing so will allow you to post in target languages).
To respond to everyone, it is necessary to find a balance that can maximize visibility in multiple time zones.
This includes scheduling posts throughout a day, and using social media management tools that can be scored in advance and targeting a specific time zone.
Tips, hints, hints. We only know tools ...
5. Platform algorithm
Social media platforms are constantly modified algorithms to provide users with the best experience. The details are often mysteriously wrapped in mysteries, but one certain is that timing is important. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter give rewards to content that created engagement immediately after posting. In other words, if your post wants to gain the maximum visibility, you need to post at the right time.
Focus on the most active time of the audience and focus on the target to post at that peak. But don't forget the expiration date of the content.
Some posts are immediately impactful, while others, such as Evergreen Content, have been gathering lon g-term engagement. Try various posts, monitor the results, and find the best for audience and content strategy.
"The release time is always hot topics, but I think it is no longer so important than a few years ago. In my opinion, they focus on content strategies and who the target audience they were. It is more important to understand online actions and value that your content can be provided to them. "
Irene Quock, Hootsuite Social Media Strategist
- 6. Current affairs and trends
Social media is a dynamic landscape shaped by current events, holidays, and trends. Paying attention to what’s happening in the world allows you to take advantage of timely opportunities to connect with your audience.
Are there any big industry conferences? Holidays or anniversaries? Any viral memorials or trending topics? Incorporating these events into your timeline can make your content feel relevant and timely, increasing the likelihood of engagement.
Just be mindful of the context and tone of your posts. What’s appropriate for one event might feel off-putting for another. Stay on top of what’s happening and be ready to adjust your strategy accordingly.
Paige Schmidt, social engagement coordinator at Hootsuite, sees events and trends being big in 2024. “We’re seeing an increased demand for relevant and timely content aligned with pop culture events, such as sporting events, award shows, and music releases. Brands are designing content around these events to effectively capture audience attention, or guiding them to events for pre-planning,” he says.
7. Experiment and Analyze
At the end of the day, there is no perfect posting time formula. What works for one brand may not work for another. That’s why it’s important to approach your posting strategy with a spirit of experimentation and a willingness to learn.
Test different posting times, frequencies, and content types to see what resonates best with your audience.
Use analytics tools to track key metrics like engagement, reach, and click-through rate, and use this data to improve your approach over time.
You should also look at your top posts of the past to see what you can mimic or improve. Take a close look at your best performing posts in terms of:
Awareness (= posts that got high impressions)
- Engagement (= posts that got impressive engagement rates)
- Sales/Circulation (e. g. posts that garnered a lot of clicks)
- Then look at the hours and weeks you published successful content and see what patterns emerge.
Pro Tip: HootSuite Analytics’ Best Time to Publish feature automatically pulls your unique publishing history without judging your data, and suggests publishing times to maximize your ROI.
Remember, social media is constantly evolving, so be prepared to adjust and iterate.
"I worked hard in a certain position, but when it doesn't land, my chest can be full. The best advice from me is to be patient. The algorithm is placed in your content. It may take some time, and it may take time to warm up to the content you are making! "
-Hootsuite Social Marketing team leader Trish Liswick

Social media drawbacks
Step 1: Spend less time online
Social media may promote the following negative experiences:
Step 2: Change your focus
Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and Social Media Addiction. While FOMO exists outside of social media, sites like Facebook and Instagram seem to exacerbate the feeling that others are having more fun or living a better life than we are. The idea that we are missing out on something can affect self-esteem, cause anxiety, and fuel further social media use like an addiction. FOMO can cause us to pick up our phone every few minutes to check for updates and to obsessively respond to every notification, even if it means taking risks while driving, staying up at night, or prioritizing social media interactions over real-world relationships.
Loneliness. A University of Pennsylvania study found that heavy use of Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram increases loneliness, not decreases it. Conversely, reducing social media use was found to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation and improve overall well-being.
- Depression and Anxiety. Humans need face-to-face contact to be mentally healthy. Nothing reduces anxiety and boosts mood faster and more effectively than eye contact with someone who cares about you. The more you prioritize social media interactions over interpersonal relationships, the higher your risk of developing or worsening mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.
- Cyberbullying. Nearly 10% of teens report being bullied on social media, and many others have received aggressive comments. Social media platforms like Twitter can be hotspots for spreading harmful rumors, lies, and abuse that can leave lasting psychological scars.
- Self-absorption. Endless social media sharing of selfies and innermost thoughts can create an unhealthy self-centeredness that distracts us from real-life connections.
- What drives social media use?
- These days, most people access social media through their smartphones or tablets. This makes it very convenient to stay in touch, but it also means that you can access it at any time. This 24/7 hyperconnectivity can cause impulse control issues, constant notifications and alerts that affect focus and concentration, disrupt sleep, and make you a slave to your phone.
- Social media platforms are designed to grab your attention, keep you connected, and make you check your screen again and again, waiting for updates. That's how companies make money. But like gambling obsessions and addictions to nicotine, alcohol, and drugs, social media use can create psychological cravings. The same "reward" chemicals that we get when we win at a slot machine, eat a bite of chocolate, or pick up a light cigarette. The more rewards we get, the more we want to spend more time on social media, even if it negatively impacts other aspects of our lives.
Other causes of unhealthy social media use
Step 3: Spend more time with offline friends
Many of us use social media as a “security blanket.” Whenever we’re in a social situation and feel stressed, awkward, or lonely, we turn to our phones and log on to social media. Of course, social media interactions only negate the face-to-face interactions that help us relieve stress.
Heavy social media use may be masking other underlying issues, such as anxiety, depression, or boredom. If you spend a lot of time on social media when you’re feeling depressed, lonely, or bored, you may be using it as a way to distract yourself from unpleasant emotions or to calm down. It may be difficult at first, but letting go of your own emotions may pave the way to finding healthier ways to manage your mood.
The vicious cycle of unhealthy social media use
Excessive social media use creates a negative, self-reinforcing cycle:
When we feel lonely, depressed, anxious, or stressed, we turn to social media more frequently as a way to alleviate boredom and feel connected to others.
However, increased social media use increases FOMO and makes us feel inadequate, dissatisfied, and isolated.
Step 4: Express gratitude
These symptoms then lead us to use social media even more, and the downward spiral continues.
Signs that social media is affecting your mental health
The amount of time you spend on social media, how often you check for updates, or how many posts you make do not necessarily indicate that your use is becoming unhealthy. Rather, it is the impact that the time you spend on social media has on your mood and other aspects of your life, and your motivations for using it.
For example, social media use that causes you to neglect your face-to-face relationships, distracts you from work or school, or leaves you feeling jealous, angry, or depressed can be problematic. Similarly, if you find yourself being tempted to use social media just because you're bored or lonely, or to post things that make others jealous or upset, it may be time to reevaluate your social media habits.
Indicators that social media may be negatively affecting your mental health include:
