2025 Illustrators' Annual - How to Participate

A highly qualified international jury will select an illustrator to be presented at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.

The selected illustrator will have their work published in Illustrators' Annual and will be able to participate in a two-year world tour exhibition.

The competition is open to published and unpublished illustrators, art school students, publishers and their artists.

1. Application period

Registration and file upload functionality will be available from July 2nd until October 18th, 2024.12All entries must be received by October 18th, 2024, without exception.

2. Eligibility

Illustrators, professionals and beginners (born before December 31st, 2007) can submit unpublished work or work published in the past two years.

• Art schools can submit the most interesting and innovative projects by students of their school.
• Publishers can purchase a code for illustrators.

Illustrator

The participation fee is 22 euros (+ VAT if required). An individual code for each student will be sent by Bologna Fiere at the request (in writing) of the applying art school/course. illustratori@bolognafiere. it

Once you have uploaded your illustration, you can proceed to the payment process. Once the purchase is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with the activation code for the purchased service.

To activate, go to the "Booked Visitors" section of the BCBF website. Enter the activation code you received by email. Your registration will be confirmed.

If you need help with your purchase, please contact us at bf@archimedia. it.

If you need an invoice, please email us at bf@archimedia. it, stating your VAT number.

Students: Participation is free only if you have a code given to you by the art school/course you attended (the code will be sent directly to your school/course by BCBF). If you do not have a code issued by BCBF, you will be required to pay the participation fee.

When the student uploads the illustration, enter the free code you have. After that, make sure that the system has accepted the application.

Each code is unique and can only be used once.

Free code for students will be sent by email to schools and courses that are already affiliated with BCBF. However, please request other code by e-mail (Illustratori@blognafiere. it).

Schools and courses that have not received free code should be applied by specifying the desired number of students, Illustratori@bolognafiere. it.

Five works must be numbered from 1 to 5 to digital format files based on the same theme. The number of works (5) is required.

The five illustrations may be unpublished works or works announced after January 1, 2023. Monochrome, color, and techniques do not matter.

The digital format is JPG or PNG, the maximum size 5MB, and the resolution 150 dpi.

5. How to appl y-Illustrator

Please read the rules carefully before filling out the entry form.

You need to register before filling out the entry form. If you have not registered, please access the BCBF visito r-only area. If you have already registered, please log in to the visito r-only area.

It is an unpublished work or a work published after January 1, 2023, and monochrome, color, and techniques do not matter.

File format: JPG or PNG, maximum size 5MB, resolution 150dpi.

The 5 items to apply are produced on the same theme, and the digital file should be numbered from 1 to 5. The number of works (5) is required.

If you notice mistakes while uploading, you can delete it and repeat the operation. Once you upload the image, you need to pay the registration fee and complete the registration and submission. Follow the procedure that will be displayed automatically. If you fail or cancel, you can complete the payment by automatic notification email without repeating all procedures.

Note: When paying, use the same email registered when entering the reservation area.

• At the end of the procedure, an automatic message is displayed to confirm that the registration has been successfully completed. The registration confirmation is also displayed in the reserved area.
• Note: Registration is valid after payment is completed. Register and payment should be completed by October 18, 2024.
• Uploading the image alone will not be registered in the contest.
