The Twitchen House Holiday Park, located in the green scenery of Wulakom in northern Devon, is a treasure trove of activities that provide relaxation and adventure to all ages.
We stayed at Twitchen House Camp & Caravan Park in June 2024. Twitchen House, one of the three sites in the Bay Bay, is a wonderfully British recreational area with beautiful nature and entertainment.

Urakum Bay has three wonderful holiday parks: Twinchen House, Woolacombe Bay, EaseWell Farm. If you stay in any of them, you can use all three facilities and activities.
You can enjoy the sportment, challenge the climbing wall, or explore the beautiful nature around you. We will invite you to make memories of all the groups.
Free activity
Twitchen House offers a lot of activities that you can enjoy during your stay. Here are some of what we enjoyed during the vacation. First of all from free activity!
Pool
One of the major sales points of Twitchen House is indoor and outdoor pools. Everyone knows what the British weather is, but they can swim regardless of the weather!
indoor
The indoor pool of Twitchen House is pr e-reserved. You can make a reservation online from 24 hours to 15 minutes before the desired time (if the frame is empty). There are two fun water sliders in the indoor pool.
Twitchen Park has two indoor pools. One is a shallow infant splash pool, the other is a deep, overall depth pool. The water in the pool is warm and warm, and the changing room is not cold!
The changing room is clean and good. However, it is better to have a little more shower when crowded. There is also a locker. There is a spectator seat for those who do not swim, so you can sit and see the children.
The indoor pool is free, but you need to book for the indoor pools at Twitchen House and Woolacombe Bay.
Outdoor Pools
You don't need to book for the outdoor pools, which are open any time between 10am and 6pm.
There's also an outdoor water play area with a waterway and splash pad.
Park
There's a park area for kids to play to their heart's content. It's opposite the splash park, near Kneesa's shop.
Adventure Golf Course
A ВЈ3 deposit is given when you collect your clubs and balls from reception.
Explorer
There are a number of free activities at Explorers at Twitchen House, but you still need to book in advance. Some activities are paid. Here's a timetable of activities.
Paid Activities
Paid activities at Twitchen House can be booked up to two weeks before your arrival. Some are booked up quite a ways in advance, so we highly recommend booking.
Climbing wall
This was suitable for most ages, but surprisingly tricky. There were three paths to choose from and our kids struggled with all of them! My 15 year old daughter climbed half way up one of them. ВЈ6 for 15 minutes.
Water Walkers
You can book a Water Walkerz experience for ВЈ6 a go. This exciting activity is suitable for all ages and will give you plenty of fun on the water.
Bungee trump porin
The kids enjoyed bouncing on this bungee trampoline. 10 minutes bouncing for ВЈ6 doesn't feel that long but we both came down tired! My daughter was thrilled!
Fire lighting skill
The fire making skills class taught by experienced explorer Helen was the highlight of our adventure with the teenagers. Her ability to engage participants of all ages made the experience both educational and fun. With her expert guidance, everyone learned the vital survival skill of starting a fire using flint and steel. The technique fascinated the participants and ignited a sense of accomplishment as they watched the first sparks turn into small flames.
As the lessons progressed, Helen showed us how to safely build and maintain larger fires in the heart of the woodland, not just for survival but to create moments of joy and warmth.
They surrounded the crackling fire, boiled hot water in the camping chocolate to make hot chocolate, and melted marshmallows on the flame. It was not only about learning about fire, but also an experience of learning teamwork, patience, and simple pleasure of nature.
Pottery
The painting experience of pottery was an unforgettable memory. When we arrived, we showed you some items that could be painted. Small wall plates, practical mugs, tea light holders, piggy banks waiting for their personality to overflow, vases and pots that are perfect for adding individuality to plants.
The procedure was easy and very fun. We booked the table (up to 4 people) and paid the reservation fee. This deposit is deducted from the price of the painted item. With various paint and tools in the workshop, we freely show creativity in two cups. I was healed very much when I dropped the paint and painted it with a brush, and I felt that my own masterpiece would eventually be completed.
At the end of the painting, I entrusted the work to the studio staff Samantha and had them bake in the kiln. I was looking forward to seeing the finished work, and my excitement increased. As that, when I received the cup the next day (I was happy to finish the work by 3 pm), it was more beautiful than I expected. In the process of firing, all colors were brighter.
This pottery painting workshop provided us with a fun afternoon and unique items. The photo above was taken before putting it in the kiln, but it was even more vivid!
cinema
There is a small cinema in Twitchen Holiday Park. The latest movies are screened five times a day, three times a day, and when you arrive at the site, you can make a reservation at the reception.
The price in June 2024 was ВЈ 7 for adults and 6 pounds. It is cheaper to go early from 9 am.
During my stay, we watched the movie "IF"! I couldn't buy anything at the screening venue, so don't forget to buy popcorn and drinks at Nisa before going.
18 hole/9 hole golf course
This golf course is on the Yaswell Farm Site. The club can be rented for ВЈ 7 and the trolley can be rented for 5 pounds. From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, there are options for twilight sessions for 18 holes, 9 holes, or 9 holes.
arcade
Twichen House Park is a treasure trove for arcade fans, with an impressive selection of games for all ages and tastes. Kay's particular favorite is the 2P coin slot, which offers the simple pleasure of watching the coins swing and fall, with the possibility of small keychain prizes and other satisfying rewards like coin waterfalls. Aside from these nostalgic machines, the arcade offers a variety of amusements.
Air hockey tables promise fast-paced competition. Nearby, a colorful array of claw machines in glass cases filled with stuffed toys and quirky contraptions tempt passersby to try their hand at a deft grab.
For those looking for more action-packed entertainment, shooters offer a chance to test your aim. In the Driving Arcade you can enjoy an adrenaline-pumping race in a model car or motorbike as you speed through virtual cities and countryside, steer around tight turns and overtake opponents shown on the screen in front of you.
Mini 10 Pin Bowling Alley
A small 2-lane bowling alley/skittles in Twichen's Arcade. No prior booking required. A bit too small for us teenagers but suitable for smaller children.
Pool table
There are 2 pool tables in the Sail Loft recreation room. You need a ВЈ1 coin to play.
Bingo tournament
We love bingo! ВЈ6 a book with 4 games (2 games of lines and full house). You have to bring cash to buy bingo tickets between 7-7. 45pm. Eyes down at 8. 00pm.
The last 2 games are open to under 18s which is nice. You get a free ticket with a paying adult and play for a line (full house for adults). Under 18s get sweets and a certificate, not cash!
We played every night and won ВЈ66 one night and ВЈ99. 50 another. So ВЈ165. 50 - ВЈ24 spent on the book, a positive of ВЈ141. 50! Bingo winnings are given in cash.
Gym
Woolacombe Bay has a gym, which costs ВЈ6 a session. We didn't use it during our stay!
spa
At Woolacombe Bay you can also book a spa for ВЈ15 per person. There is a dry sauna, an infrared sauna, two steam rooms, a jacuzzi and a cold plunge pool. There is also a relaxation area with heated loungers.
Lockers, towels and cold water are provided. No phones allowed in the spa.
Sun Shower
Want to work on your tan? You can use the sun showers in the spa to get that holiday glow tan! ВЈ2. 50 per minute.

Once you've finished your activities at Twitchen House Holiday Park, here are some other nearby attractions to explore.
Urakom Beach
Woolacombe Beach is a great place to build sandcastles and go bodyboarding (or surfing). It's just a 10-minute drive from Twitchen House Holiday Park.
If you'd prefer to enjoy the beautiful scenery on foot, take the safe route through Twitchen House woodland and over fields. This is a hilly walk that takes about 20 minutes.
Whether you're looking to surf or just relax with an ice cream on the vast sand, Woolacombe Beach promises an unforgettable visit full of joy and excitement. There are eateries and shops at the beach entrance.
The beach also has a dog area.
Barricade beach
This small beach next to Woolacombe Beach is a beautiful beach set in a rocky cove. It can be visited during the day (weather permitting). There is a beach cafГ© that serves snacks and lunches during the day. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
Our favourite thing is the Sri Lankan curry after 5pm! Don't miss out, it's delicious!
