Trump tells the moment of assassination attempted

1962

Report from Joe Biden

In the speech, Joe Biden's policy was strongly criticized in some aspects, but Trump directly referred to his opponent's name, once he did, called one of the worst presidents in history. It was just.

"The damage that he has given to the country is unimaginable," he said.

1963

Biden's candidate has been unclear. On Wednesday, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 and is recuperating at home in Delaware.

It has been reported that the top of the Democratic Party, including Barak Obama, is challenging Biden's status, and even though there are growing calls to retire for new candidates. , Biden pledged to stay in the election campaign.

False remarks and misunderstandings

1964

President Trump promised to build the rest of the walls of the southern border. This claim is not accurate, less than 500 miles (805 km) built during his first term.

He also described a large inflation, saying, "50 % for grocery stores, 60-70 % for gasoline, and mortgage interest rates are quadrupled."

Inflation is an important issue for American voters, but prices have risen by about 20 % since Biden became president in January 2021.

1965

Mr. Trump also pointed out some unusual claims that he had lost his presidential position in the 2020 election.

Trump family

The Trump Candidate family who went up on the stage at the end of the speech

The tournament ended with the family gathering on the stage as usual. However, the Trump clan is not just a show, but a republican power broker, which has the potential of the dynasty.

Trump's son, Eric and Don Jr., won the hig h-attention speech, and Don Jr. had an important impact on his father's Vice President.

At the beginning of the week, Eric's wife, Lara Trump, was on stage. She plays an important role in the election campaign as a c o-chair of the Republican National Committee.

At the tournament, we talked from members of rarely known tribes, such as golfer eldest daughter Kai Trump. She is 17 years old and has no voting in November.

Other cars were even less popular. Melania Trump appeared unusually in the public last night, but did not speak on the podium, as a US candidate's wife usually took this opportunity.
Trump's daughter Ivanka also attended the tournament only with her husband, Jared Kushner. Once a father's aide, she left the political world after her father left the White House.

Mr. Trump tried to continue the general theme of the national unity that continued to emerge this week at the party tournament, but in some respects, he flown into a sharp attack on the Democratic Party and its policy.

At the beginning of the speech, he told the crowd: "Both will open up a new era of safety, prosperity, and freedom for citizens with all races, creed, skin color, and religion."

"I run for the presidential election for the whole United States, not half of the United States.

Nevertheless, he could not help but speak a line criticizing the leaders of the Democratic Party and the leadership of the National Automobile Union, the largest union in the United States. In addition to criticism of President Biden, he called the former House of Representatives Nancy Peloshi "Crazy."

1967

He said about the lawsuit against himself: "They are destroying our country.

Trump also complained that the Democratic Party should immediately stop armed the judicial system.

Immigration issues were the top of the agenda, as seemed to be a politician career.

He called illegal immigrants "the invasion of killing hundreds of thousands of people a year," and promised that "the largest deportation strategy in my history-more large than President Dwight Eisenhower many years ago."

In 1954, more than 1 million Mexico immigrants were forced to be repatriated from the United States.

In this long section, one of the longest speeches in memory, he accused him of immigration crimes and said: "We are a garbage dump for people who laugh.

  • Until 1954, both North and South Vietnam were part of French Indochina. The region was occupied by Japanese forces during World War II, after which French forces returned to reestablish colonial rule. The First Indochina War began in late 1945 as a rebellion against France. When it ended in 1954, an agreement was made to divide Indochina into North and South Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. The division between North Vietnam (People's Republic of Vietnam) and South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam) was temporary, with free elections scheduled for July 1956.
  • The breakup of Indochina occurred during the intensification of the Cold War between the communist bloc and the Western powers. Having prevented a communist takeover of Korea in the Korean War, the United States was determined to support South Vietnam as well. After France withdrew from the region in the mid-1950s, American support for South Vietnam intensified. Direct support began in 1955, and in 1956 the US Military Assistance Advisory Group (MAAG) was created to train South Vietnamese forces.
  • This was a major development as North Vietnam officially recognized the communist insurgency in 1959, and then assisted in destabilizing the government and eventually revolution in South Vietnam. The United States, Australia and several other countries expressed support for South Vietnam, but with the increasing success of the guerrillas, they felt the need to expand their support by providing direct military aid to South Vietnam.

Prime Minister Menzies, after consultation with the Defence Committee and the United States, agreed to send a small number of Australian troops. On 24 May 1962, the government announced the dispatch of a military advisory team to help train the South Vietnamese Army. On 31 July, the first members of the Australian Army Training Team (AATTV) arrived in Saigon.
  • The AATTV was initially limited to training units of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN). The Australian military's involvement at this stage was limited to a single Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) transport aircraft carrying food and medicine for the refugees. On 1 June 1963, Sergeant William Hacking of the AATTV was killed in a freak accident, marking the first recorded Australian combat fatality. AATTV continued its role in training the South Vietnamese Army, and in June 1964, the Australian government announced that it would expand the force and allow advisors to serve in combat units. On 6 July 1964, AATTV's Kevin Conway was killed in action at Nam Dong. The following month, a RAAF Vietnam transport squadron flew a Caribou aircraft.

  • Faced by pressure from South Vietnam as well as the United States to increase its military commitment, the Australian government made the important decision to increase its own military strength. This would allow it to send more troops to Vietnam while also meeting the defence needs of other countries and regions. On 10 November 1964, the National Service (Conscription) Act was passed, reintroducing national service. Although this decision was not specifically related to the Vietnam War, the war was a major factor. Soldiers who received a two-year conscription could be deployed to Vietnam as well as other areas. The first vote for national service was convened in March 1965, and the first recruits began recruit training in June. • In early 1965, the Australian government agreed to send an infantry battalion to South Vietnam. The top troops of the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (1rar) landed on 3 June on a Qantas chartered flight. This was the first use of Qantas chartered flights to and from South Vietnam, and these flights, which became known as "Skippy flights", continued on a fairly regular basis until the end of Australia's involvement in the war. Also significant was the arrival of the transport (converted aircraft) HMAS Sydney at Vung Tau on 8 June, accompanied by the escorting destroyers HMAS Parramatta and HMAS Duchess.
  • The only infantry battalion to be deployed to Vietnam that contained only tactical elements, 1rar deployed to Bien Hoa with the 173rd US Airborne Brigade. It was soon organized into a battalion group that also included artillery, armored personnel carriers, Army Air Corps, and logistics units. The battalion team experienced heavy fighting, suffering 23 deaths during the year-long tour. Meanwhile, AATTV personnel continued to fight South Vietnamese forces, with AATTV member Kevin 'Dasher' Wheatley killed in action on 13 November 1965, the first of four Victoria Crosses that all AATTV personnel received during the war.

  • In March 1966, the Australian government announced a larger contingent, 4500 troops, including two infantry battalions, the Special Air Service (SAS), and support forces. The 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) was to be stationed in Phuoc Thai province, southeast of Saigon. This area was far from the Cambodian border and from the expected intensity of fighting in the north, and was on the coast, allowing for air and sea transport, and allowing the Australians to manage their own logistics.
  • From April to June 1966, 1ATF was installed in Nydat in the center of Hock Tui. During the strategy to secure the area, the mission units launched the first battle on May 24. The 5RAR Erol Noac Upper Soldier died of injury. At the same time as the opening of the operation base, the first Australian rear support group opened a rear support base on the coast of Vuntau.
  • In less than two months, the 6RAR "D" company encountered an enemy army moving toward Nuidat, and the first larg e-scale battle was held. In a fierce battle in The Ron Tan, the D's company held several hours until the rescue unit arrived. The Australian army lost 18 people (17 from the D company, one rescue unit), and 24 were injured, with at least 245 casualties in the North Vietnam and Vietnamese troops. In this battle, the Australian army's dominance was confirmed.
  • The Australian presence in Hoc k-twei did not take a serious challenge again, but in order to control the Hocktui Province, 1ATF is developing a continuous and decisive operation not only in the ministry but also in nearby ministries. I needed to. Large battles such as Ron Tan (Long Tan) in May 1968, later Coral/Balmoral, and Binh Ba in June 1969 have become a hot topic. In most cases, 1ATF units conducted larg e-scale patrols and approach search operations, and the collisions were smaller than other wars.
  • Most of the operations and injured were borne by nine steps in Rotation in South Vietnam. While some of the support units work in one year, they have been dispatched to Vietnam for several years, and some units have worked in the maximum of one year.

  • Beginning with HMAS Hobart in 1967, several destroyers were attached to the US 7th Fleet and conducted gunfire operations off the coast of Vietnam. Warships patrolled coastal waters and participated in naval gunfire. Ashore, the first to be deployed was Clearance Diving Team 3, which searched ships for mines and conducted minesweeping operations in harbours, rivers and on land. A RAN helicopter squadron was also attached to the 135th US Army Attack Helicopter Squadron, and flew gunfire, combat zone transport and medical evacuation flights with its Iroquois helicopters.
  • Civilians
  • Australian civilians also operated in the operational area according to standards established in the previous war. Members of charitable organisations such as the Australian Red Cross, Salvation Army and YMCA accompanied military units in a variety of roles, including assisting medical and nursing staff in the care of hospitalised patients, distributing "comfort rations" to dispersed troops, and providing religious instruction and moral support. Other civilians played logistical roles, such as merchant seamen from the supply ships HMAS Jeparit and Boonaloo, and Qantas crew members from the military charter "Skippy Flight," which transported personnel to and from South Vietnam. Performers and technicians were also flown in to entertain troops, Ministry of Defence and other civil servants and contractors. Elsewhere in South Vietnam, civilian medical teams deployed under the auspices of the Southeast Asian Treaty Organisation (SEATO) were active. They came from hospitals across Australia and provided medical services and assistance to the Vietnamese people.

  • Support for the war waned after the enemy's Tet Offensive in 1968. Anti-war movements began in the United States and Australia, and protests intensified. By 1970, the United States and its allies had scaled back their military commitment in South Vietnam. In early 1971, Prime Minister McMahon announced the withdrawal of Australian troops, which took place the following year. The last members of the AATTV and the Australian Army Support Forces in Vietnam withdrew in December 1972. After that, only a small number of Australian troops remained in South Vietnam.
  • A ceasefire was announced on 27 January 1973, marking the complete withdrawal of US and allied forces. The last remaining Australian troops (from the Saigon embassy garrison) withdrew on 30 June 1973.
  • With the withdrawal of US and allied forces, including Australian troops, an uneasy truce continued between North and South Vietnam. On 4 January 1974, after ceasefire violations by both sides, South Vietnam declared war again. Without US military support, South Vietnamese forces struggled to contain enemy attacks. In March 1975, North Vietnamese forces advanced on Saigon. Meanwhile, Khmer Rouge forces took control of neighboring Cambodia.

  • In March and April 1975, RAAF Hercules and Dakota aircraft were deployed to South Vietnam for humanitarian aid, with one also flying to Cambodia. They provided supplies to the Red Cross and the United Nations, and evacuated embassy staff and their families, foreigners, and some refugees (such as war orphans evacuated from Saigon to Bangkok in Operation Babylift). Australia's military involvement in the war ended on 25 April 1975 with the last Hercules flight to and from Saigon.
  • On 30 April 1975, North Vietnamese forces occupied Saigon, effectively ending the Vietnam War, which had devastated Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos for nearly 20 years. Including the First Indochina War, the region had been riven by conflict for nearly 30 years.

  • R54904 - YATES, Kenneth - Uninhabited Population - The primary purpose of publishing this register is to honour the achievements of members of the Australian Armed Forces who served in Vietnam.
  • Roll was first published in book form in 1996. Following this publication, it was decided to include specific groups of Australian civilians in future editions. In deciding which groups to include, consideration was given to whether they were covered by the Veterans' Rights Act 1986 or eligible to be awarded campaign medals.
  • To maintain recognition of their contributions, this website lists the names of members of these groups alphabetically by organisation. They are not included in the searchable list.
  • Click on any organisation below to see a list of their politicians' names.
